Adult industry Super-Star Sunset Thomas has done it again! The Queen of Crossover graces the cover of the just released LP “Re-Spectacled” by the Spectacles.
Rave Up Records—a company based in Rome, which still presses vinyl, has released a record of previously recorded tracks from San Francisco, Art Punk rockers—The Spectacles.
The Spectacles were a mainstay of S.F.’s famed Mabuhay Gardens. The band opened for Los Lobos, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Lewd and many other bands from the Golden Era of Punk Rock.
Iconic pop artist Winston Smith (who designed the Dead Kennedy’s DK logo and the album “In God We Trust, Inc.” as well as the cover of Green Day’s “Insomniac” album, two New Yorker magazine covers and whose work has appeared in Playboy, Spin and the Atlantic Monthly), created the cover for the band’s LP using Sunset and the Golden Gate Bridge as center pieces.
“Sunset and San Francisco go hand in hand,” the artist commented.
“She was a mere babe when these tracks were recorded, but she’s associated with the band and very much a piece of San Francisco lore—I felt it only fitting that she become a Re-Spectacled piece of…art!”
