November 10, 2005, I write the following: Porn Valley- Time flies even when you’re not having fun.

Last Christmas I had dinner with John T. Bone who was telling me about a pending deal he had with this company. Bone, who just ended his relationship with New Sensations on quite amicable terms, wasn’t mentioning names but he said these new guys sounded pretty square and on the level.

Flash forward to the new year. Bone tells me his deal is with Damaged Pictures [no relation to Van Damage] which is owned by Blaine Hensler. In fact this is about the time that Lewis Adams came over to Damaged as a salesman from Jill Kelly Productions. I subsequently get a call to come on down and talk to Hensler about advertising on Adultfyi. I give him a dollar figure and we shake hands. Hensler tells me his partner Steve will be the point man. [Steve was also the point man in the Bone deal.]

Hensler says invoice him, meaning Hensler. I e-mail him an invoice. Hensler says he didn’t get the invoice. I invoice it again. Hensler says he still didn’t get the invoice. A third try and Hensler gets the invoice. But that’s the last I heard from Hensler. Calls went unreturned. I tell Bone I’ve got a funny feeling about this. And Bone started getting a funny feeling after months into the deal when his calls went unanswered.

Today, Damaged received a cease & desists that reads something like this:

As you are now delinquent on four payments for product and you have contravened the terms of our distribution agreement all verbal arrangements are null and void.

You have severely breached your distribution contract and as such:

1. You are ordered to cease and desist selling any and all John T. Bone product immediately.

2. You will not represent yourselves as owners of or agents for John T. Bone product for domestic sales, foreign sales, broadcast sales, or any other area of exploitation worldwide.

3. You will immediately deliver all masters, glass masters, printed inserts, replicated DVD’s, boxed or unboxed, and any and all ancillary items whether supplied to you by us or generated by you and paid for by us.

4. You will supply us immediately with all sales records of all John T. Bone titles, in every area you have exploited them along with a full accounting of monies due and a check to cover this amount.

5. You will make all of your sales records, printing records, replication records, etc pertaining to John T. Bone product available to a forensic account who will be contacting you in the immediate future.

6. We require information as to why you have made DVD covers without our authority, why you have made and distributed video 4 packs without our knowledge or permission, what role you have played in licensing broadcasts of John T. Bone movies, and a complete list of any and all unauthorized foreign sales.

7. As per the terms of our contract all monies owed from all sales made are due and payable today 11/10/2005.

8. You are hereby relieved of any permission to represent our product in any fashion; you can make no more sales or deliveries of John T. Bone product. Any further dealings by you in our product from today’s date shall be considered piracy and illegal.

9. You will withdraw any publicity regarding the sales and distribution of Big Dick Black #2 and return the master and all documentation to us immediately.

Gene adds: The day after this story went up, Bone called to say that he got some of the money promised him and assurances for the rest. Then on July 30, 2006, Bone writes on his blog, www.johntbone.com:

“My partner Mr. D doesn’t know much about the distribution business which prompts him to ask a lot of questions which usually end with me saying “but that’s the way they do it” and him saying “but that doesn’t make any sense” and me saying “I know”. So the other week when I mentioned the amount of money I was making from VOD it prompted an email from him questioning the people around me and their honesty in bookkeeping. As usual I forwarded the emails (there were several) to Josie. I heard nothing until last week when she forwarded an unsigned contract from Damaged giving them VOD rights on certain of my titles and wanting to know if I had signed it.

“If I’d signed the fucking thing they would have sent you signed copy” I replied “also they tried this shit on me a year ago and I told them in no uncertain terms that they did not have any rights other than domestic distribution on the titles in question.”

“Well they have your titles out there on VOD and they are collecting your money” she said

“What the fuck?”

“Oh and CED is collecting on one of your titles too”

“How the fuck did that happen? I haven’t done business with them for years, long before that title came out, and we parted on very bad terms”

“Well that is the reason your not making any money on VOD, John, you are getting fucked, again!”

My career in porn, all 22 years of it, has been fraught with scumbags with their hands in my pocket, this is the time to make an example of some of them, maybe then I will be able to pay my bills.
