Porn Valley- Tabitha Stevens called the Howard Stern show this morning. Stevens’ original intention was to weigh in on the Artie Lange issue. Lange has been flaking the show and various reasons have been offered as to why- drugs, alcohol, depression or perhaps the fact that Lange is flipping off the show in favor of movie deals. But Stern steered the conversation into other areas.
Stevens brought up the time that she got sick in Florida at the opening of a Scores where she vomited her own shit. “That was the night,” said Stevens who had been talking to Lange about depression. Stevens says she goes through serious bouts of it. “Which everybody knows about it.” Asked what her excuse was, Stevens told Stern she’s ugly and gross. “That’s why I always have plastic surgery.”
Stern comforted her by saying if she feels ugly and disgusting she should be depressed. “That’s a legitimate depression.” Stevens said in her conversation with Lange he told her that he was depressed and miserable. “I’m not happy- we were talking about life.” According to Stevens, she told Lange she’d be lucky if she, herself, made it to 42. Stevens was proceeding like a train engine and Stern had to haul her in but concluded that Stevens was worrying that she would become ugly and old. Stevens said the possibilities are she might OD and not make it. Stern asked if she was a drug addict, and Stevens said no. He asked why then would she make a comment like that. “Because I’m not going to go out in another way,” says Stevens. “I’d rather fall asleep.” Stevens admits she’s had thoughts of suicide. “It’s not that I want to be dead,” she stated. “it’s just that I have a funny feeling I’m not going to make it. I’m trying.”
Stern was of the belief that there’s no getting through to depressed people with advice. “But you’ve got to develop some interests other than looking in the mirror. You’ve got to get into yourself, maybe read. You’re a little too focused on looks.” Stevens admitted she had to get over that. Stevens said she had a movie going on. The movie, said Stevens would now be an R-movie. The concept of the movie is that Stevens lives in a cave for four days without eating. Then she gets body pierced and hung by hooks, according to Gary Dell’Abate. Stevens said he was giving the movie away. And Stern almost told her not to worry that no one was going to see it anyway. Stevens said she was living the movie and that the movie was about a woman who was trying to find herself. Stevens thought it would be better to go through the shaman experience, personally. “Actually it was a good feeling.” Stevens said she was thinking of doing the bit with hooks. “Where I get suspended.” When Stern described A Man Called Horse, Stevens suspected she’d do it with six hooks in her back. “They’re surgical hooks.” Stevens said she wanted to do it for real without benefit of special effects. Stern couldn’t understand how someone who’s obsessed with their looks would want to do this. “You’ll be scarred. You could get infections.”
Stevens said it was just a thought and Stern asked her what thought could be going through her head. Stevens answered that a friend of hers had done it [possibly Matt Zane]. “I was in a music video with him awhile ago,” she said. “He actually did it and I watched it. He was only supposed to be suspended for ten minutes. It ended up he was suspended for half an hour. He loved it. He’s flying around the room. I’m thinking, oh my gosh, this looks like the coolest thing.” Stevens said she saw the scarring a year later. “They’re teeny, tiny, nothing. You can laser them off.”
Stevens said she was co-producing the movie which was titled The Shaman. Steven’s partner is Gary Orona. Stern asked what studio it was set up and Stevens said she and Orona were doing it themselves. Stevens was asked how much money she put into it. “I can’t talk about it,” she answered. “I wish I could.” Stern determined that she’s put in at least over a hundred grand, maybe more. Stern was thinking maybe $250,000. Stevens, who refused to answer on the grounds of partnership, was asked who would watch it if all the porn has been taken out. “There is nudity in it,” said Stevens. “But it’s very bizarre and twisted.” According to her, it’s shot on 35mm. Stern suggested that Stevens better do a gangbang while she has a few hooks in her. “I’m telling you right now.”
Stern imagined that Stevens was too embarrassed to talk about how much money she’s really invested and Stevens admitted she hasn’t finished putting money into it. But Stevens said she’d said him a screener.
Stern’s opinion was that she was being soaked. “Every movie announces the budget.” Asked again for the budget, Stevens said they were still working on the film. “It’s whatever we want it to be.” Stern said Private Parts was $20 million and couldn’t understand why Stevens was avoiding the question. Stevens finally said by the time the movie’s done, they will have spent over $500,000. It was also determined that Stevens sticks thorns in her tongue as well.
“I never heard of this kind of movie,” Stern said, telling Stevens she had a good reason to be depressed. Stevens said the movie was her attempt to move out of the porn world but that she hasn’t done a porno in 3 1/2 years.
