Once Labor Day arrives, can Thanksgiving and Christmas be far behind?
While some celebrate Labor Day as the official end of the summer vacation season, by living in humidity-drenched Philadelphia, I noticed something else about that weekend.
As if by magic, cooler weather, refreshing breezes and ice blue skies would brisk away the nicotine haze and stifling dog days of August precisely on the Labor Day weekend.
And, of course there was the Jerry Lewis telethon to look forward to. As all things end, though, so it did for Jerry who, at 85, isn’t going to be doing this any more for the kids.
