Los Angeles- Television personality Tila Tequila has gone to court to stop an ex-lover from trying to release an “explicitly sexual” video they made together nearly seven years ago.
The former “Shot At Love” star, whose real name is Thien Thanh Thi Nguyen, alleges Francis Ten has been negotiating with self-proclaimed “celebrity sex tape broker” Kevin Blatt in an effort to market the video.
Tequila says she has made it “abundantly clear” that she does not authorize the release of the video for any purpose whatsoever.
According to the complaint, filed in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Tequila had treated Ten to a “luxurious and expensive trip” to St. Barts, where they made videos of “an explicitly sexual nature.”
Tequila says she asked Ten to delete the sexual material but learned recently that he and Blatt have contacted various people about trying to release and distribute the footage.
She also says the defendants have made it clear that they intend to market the video without her approval.
Tequila seeks an injunction and punitive damages for invasion of privacy, misappropriation of publicity, unfair business practices and breach of oral contract.
The plaintiff’s attorneys are Alan S. Gutman and John Juenger, of the Gutman Law Offices in Beverly Hills, Calif.
