Tommy Gunn Makes AVN Awards History

CHATSWORTH, CA – Coming home from the aftermath of the Vegas expo and awards show, after all the dust has settled, the bags are unpacked and the hangovers are slowly fading away, Tommy Gunn found a moment to reflect after his four-hour trek home from Sin City’s grips. But it still hasn’t sunk in for him yet, he exclaimed.

Tommy Gunn brought home four AVN Awards (out of nine nominations) this year, including Male Performer of the Year, which puts him in the coveted position of being the first recipient of the Best Male Newcomer award to go on to win Male Performer of the Year, ever, and he did it in just 2 years. In fact, a bit of research reveals that not even a Best New Starlet has gone on to become the Female Performer of the Year, making Tommy’s accomplishment transcend the sexes.

Gunn’s other wins this year included Best Group Scene and Best Oral Scene from Brad Armstrong’s FUCK, which proved quite a success itself this year at the awards show. Last but not least, Tommy brought home the award for Best POV Scene from Jack’s Playground with co-star Naomi, Best New Starlet of 2007.

“I really want to make it clear how much I respect and appreciate the male performers who have come before me and paved the way for guys like myself to be in this business, its a real privilege and an honor and I’d like to pay homage to a few people who aren’t around anymore, including John Doe…. our whole industry felt his loss this last year… I’m accepting this award on behalf of all the guys in this business that have been, are now, or are to come…. this is my chance to be a voice of the male performer… In closing I’d also like to personally thank once again Brad Armstrong and Rick Davis, who shared the responsibility in giving me my first opportunities to perform. Also AVN, all the great actresses who make my job so wonderful, the directors, the producers, the entire industry, thanks to everybody… I’ll see ya on set!”

Asked what he’s got in store for 2007, Tommy’s got a long list. He’s continuing to work on his acting skills, and he’s been training for stunts and fighting, with an eye towards doing more mainstream work, without abandoning the industry that has treated him so well. “I’m really excited about Pirates 2, and I hope to see my character make a comeback,” Tommy says with a smile. His growing fledgling company, Assassin Pictures ( is also keeping Tommy pretty busy these days, and he’s convinced that “2007 is the year for Assassin.”
