"D.O.L.L.S." centers on three scientists, Avery Jane, Leana Lovings, and Siri Dahl, who create three androids, Eva Maxim, Khloe Kay, and Zariah Aura, for mass production. These androids, referred to as "trandroids" or "transformative androids," are initially intended as platonic companions. The scientists are later tasked with developing sex robots. The plot escalates when an angry lab assistant sabotages the dolls, leading the scientists to realize that regaining control of the "horny escapees" requires overloading their systems with "energetic duos, threesomes and an all-out orgy."

Stella Smut directed and co-produced "D.O.L.L.S." This project marks Smut's feature directorial debut. Smut expressed a long-standing interest in '80s B-flick science fiction films, particularly those exploring themes of AI consciousness and rebellion. Smut described the opportunity to direct this genre with a queer perspective as a queer person as a "dream come true."

Bree Mills, Adult Time's Chief Creative Officer, served as an executive producer for "D.O.L.L.S." Mills also made a non-sex cameo appearance in the film. Production for "D.O.L.L.S." wrapped in October.
