Uncle Luke – My Life & Freaky Times

Porn Valley- Hip-hop’s original bad boy, pop culture icon, and consummate businessman, Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell is one of the few American celebrities who has had an indelible impact on the worlds of rap music, sex, business, law, and politics simultaneously.

The architect of Miami’s “bass” hip-hop, frontman of the groundbreaking multi-platinum rap group, 2 Live Crew, and the first Southern rap star to emerge on the Billboard Pop Charts, Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell celebrates nearly two decades in the entertainment industry with the release of Uncle Luke – My Life & Freaky Times, a three-disc box set containing a music compilation and two tell-all audio book CDs told in his own voice from the perspective of his three alter-egos: Luther Campbell – businessman/entrepreneur, Coach Campbell – mentor/father-figure to Miami’s Liberty City Warriors for over 15 years, and Uncle Luke the man took hip- hop from Timbs to thongs.

As a part of The 2 Live Crew, Uncle Luke’s revolutionized the way hip-hop videos are created and established Miami as the #1 location to film a video. Early images of 2 Live Crew’s videos set on South Beach white sands overflowing with scantily clad video vixens exposed the industry and the world to how sexy music videos could be and established Miami as the #1 location to film a video. Soon major industry events like The MTV Awards, VH1 Awards, The Source Awards, Vibe Awards, BMI Urban Music Awards, and MTV Spring Bling would recognize Miami as the ‘it’ place for their annual events/ceremonies. MTV co-founder Les Garland offers, “Luther Campbell is a trailblazer and one of the first persons to combine hip-hop music with sex. Today nearly every rapper follows his model.”

Luther Campbell contributions to hip-hop and his courtroom victory against the Supreme Court are a part of music’s history. Although his freaky stage shows are legendary, Luther Campbell’s contributions to hip-hop cannot be forgotten. He discusses his historic Supreme Court victory, launching the first Black owned and operated hip-hop label, Luke Records, in 1983, and along with 2 Live Crew creating the groundbreaking Miami “bass,” sound, the foundation of Southern hip-hop.

Uncle Luke- My Life & Freaky Times would be incomplete without taking us behind the scenes of Uncle Luke’s Peep Show. Uncle Luke reveals his freakiest escapades; legendary stories about singers, celebs and athletes who engage in X-rated romps, golden showers, an onstage fellatio train, nymphomaniac Luke Dancers, a conservative chick who within hours of hanging at Luke’s Crib transforms into a crazed freak, and much more. “Everyone wants to know what happens behind the scenes at my famous freaky parties and for the first time I’ll reveal some things you never expected about some of your favorite entertainers, athletes, the famous, the wealthy and their escapades with hoards of sexy women who are willing to do anything to get down with a celebrity.”

Accompanying the two-disc audio book is a tribute compilation CD featuring new recordings from Petey Pablo, Jacki-O, Pitbull, Dirtbag, Big Tigger, Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, and Luke’s new artist, Blaze, to name a few. In fact, Uncle Luke discovered Trick Daddy in 1995 and Pitbull in 1999. The first singles being serviced to radio and the clubs from the compilation album are “Holla At Cha Homeboy,” featuring Luke, Pitbull & Petey Pablo and the reggaetòn leaning “Pop That” featuring Plan B and Reychester Secretweapon.”

A 20 minute DVD, a visual enhancement of the audio book, is available as an online premium when you enter a special promotional code found in the packaging for Uncle Luke – My Life & Freaky Times or as a premium giveaway when you attend one of Luke’s in store signings at an adult bookstore w/ purchase of the audio book and music compilation boxset. The 90 minute special extended DVD will be for sale through and at participating adult bookstores and toy stores.

Always searching for new “Luke Girls,” Luther Campbell and Urban Box Office. Inc., (UBO) are conducting a nationwide search to find one woman over the age of 18 who will compete for a chance to go on tour with Luke as the new “Ms Freaky Soul 2006.” Applicants must submit applications along with photographs and videotapes to participating radio stations to be considered for the competition. Radio stations will hold a live contest at a local venue to select the contestant who will represent their station at the exotic finals in Miami on April 1st. The Grand Prize winner, chosen by a panel of celebrity judges including Luke Campbell himself, will receive a Rolex watch, $10,000, and will go on promo tour with Luke.

Although some have compared the concept of his tell- all book to Confessions Of A Video Vixen by “Superhead,” Luke explains it’s more than a tell-all audio book. “Uncle Luke – My Life & Times came out of an interview I did in a magazine where the writer asked me to tell her about my life and then we got to some of my freaky stories and the response we got from the readers was so crazy that it developed into the idea to write a book.

Rather than waiting for annalists to chronicle his contributions to hip-hop, Luther Campbell has decided to tell his own story. “Uncle Luke: My Life & Freaky Times is more than just freaky stories with Luke Girls and celebs, it’s the story of my life and my career. I’ve been waiting for the industry to acknowledge the contributions I made as a solo artist and as a part of 2 Live Crew because we’ve been overlooked for nearly two decades. To celebrate my 20 years in the industry and I decided tell my own story and give my fans a 2-CD audio book for the same price and that’s how it developed into a boxset. The print edition of the book which will be released later will go even more in-depth into my life.” He adds, “Everything I’m saying on this audio book is true and if you don’t believe me purchase the DVD and see if for yourself.” The audio book is a prelude to the actual book which will drop later this year.

No matter what your personal views about Luther Campbell, you can’t discount his influence on the entertainment industry, his business acumen, and his place as the Godfather of Southern Hip-Hop. “I found my niche in combining sex and music. I know what I do and I have never tried to steer away from what I do. People already know me for the lyrics and girls in the videos,” explains Campbell. “But people really don’t know Luther Campbell as a businessman or Coach Luke as a man. I am always thinking of ways to build on my brand and ways to give back to the community that has given me so much.” If you ask Uncle Luke, he simply wants to be known as “the man who brought artist entrepreneurship into hip-hop and fought for your First Amendment right to be as nasty as you wanna be!” Official Website: www.luke-
