VENICE, CA – Maddy O’Reilly [pictured] has had an amazing freshman year in the adult business that was recognized this week when she received two nominations for the 2013 XBIZ Awards: Best New Starlet and Best Scene – Gonzo/Non-Feature Release. The scene was with Ramon Nomar in The Bombshells 4 (Elegant Angel).

She can also claim a piece of the credit for the nomination of Smash Pictures’ The Bartender, which was Maddy’s first-ever box cover. She did a great scene with Bill Bailey that opens the movie, which received an XBIZ nomination for Vignette Release of the Year.

Last week Elegant Angel announced that Maddy would be one of four hot young stars to appear in Best New Starlets 2013, which is described as the company’s “annual ode to the hottest new talent on the adult industry scene.” The movie will street in December.

Maddy’s current projects include the lead role in the feature movie that James Avalon is currently shooting, The Neighbors 3, for Sweet Sinner/Mile High Media.

Her work continues to bring in fantastic reviews, including fresh ones for another Avalon feature she starred in, The Babysitter 7. On top of praising her scene, XCritic’s Apache Warrior says that Maddy “is going to do well as a romantic leading lady.”

At Adult DVD Talk astroknight said that Maddy and Manuel Ferrara “obviously drive this one,” and that Maddy “turns out two smoking hot scenes.”

“Although some might complain about this in a ‘couples movie,’” astroknight writes, “I can’t have anything close to a complaint about it with how obviously into it Maddy was. … It shows why Maddy O’Reilly should be getting a fair amount of attention come this awards season.”

In the case of Christie Stevens, while it won’t go down in the annals of porn history as a great surprise, it’s always nice when it’s finally made official when XBIZ announced Stevens as a candidate for the coveted Best New Starlet title.

Now the torturous waiting until the Jan. 11 XBIZ Awards happens and the winners are announced, but until then all the nominees are winners and the weekend was a time for celebration.

Stevens was a huge hit at the Rising Star PR Award Season 2012 Kick-Off Party on Saturday night, which was all the more festive since the XBIZ nominations had been announced the night before. For Christie Saturday is a day she will never forget and not just because it was an amazing party.

Saturday was the Best New Starlet nominee’s first-ever anal shoot. Smash Pictures was the lucky company and Mick Blue took the honors in what is sure to be a hugely popular release (Secretary’s Day 6).

“Mick was the lucky guy who got to take my on-camera anal virginity,” Christie said at the party Saturday night. “I couldn’t have picked a better male talent. He’s a great performer and made the scene smooth for me. I was really nervous all day but it was so much easier than I thought it would be, much easier than using my butt plugs at home even. After the initial penetration my ass just opened up and it started feeling good.

“In short,” the gushing star said, “I really loved it and I’m excited to see if I’ll become an anal slut.”

Melina Mason joined up with Rising Star earlier this summer. When your teachers in high school are telling you that you should be in porn, maybe they have noticed a pattern in your interests and are telling you something you need to listen to. We don’t know how good a listener Melina Mason was in school, but she took that advice to heart and now she is a starlet on the rise in the adult industry.

Growing up in Long Island, NY, which she calls mostly boring, she did find ways to fill her time.

“I’m capitalizing on a combination of my strengths and weaknesses,” she told interviewer Leonardo Blues in an interview.

“I’m a pretty girl without any shame and a sex drive that always got me into trouble. Even my teachers in high school said I should go into porn. It’s just who I’ve always been.”

By signing on with Rising Star PR Mason made it clear that she wanted to be taken seriously in her chosen career. Evidently she got her wish.

With her dark beauty and busty figure (34F-24-36), Mason has been an immediate hit in Porn Valley. Producers, directors and performers were clamoring to work with her. Until recently she held out on the guys, doing only girl/girl work. She has now broken the seal and is slowly increasing her list of things she’ll do.
