from www.seattletimes.nwsource.com – In his 41 years, Robert Jesse Hill has earned himself quite a reputation in Tacoma, Washington, D.C., and now Seattle.

The one-time candidate for Pierce County sheriff once stripped down to his underwear at a Tacoma City Council meeting, forged the name of a judge on a document and was tossed out of a congressional subcommittee hearing in the nation’s capital. His persistence prompted the Pierce County auditor to seek a no-contact order against him, and he was dubbed “a menace to society” by one assistant city attorney in Seattle.

On Thursday, Hill added to his dubious résumé when he was sentenced to four months in jail for stalking a porn star last year during a visit to Seattle for the opening of an adult-entertainment club.

Hill, who was convicted last month in Seattle Municipal Court on two counts of stalking, insisted he had not been stalking the porn star and her husband. He said he was merely trying to lure them into performing in Tacoma as a “media stunt.”

The object of his unwanted attention was Ashley Erickson, one-time Penthouse magazine “Pet of the Month” and porn actress known by the stage name Teagan Presley. Erickson and her husband were in Seattle last April for the opening of Dream Girls, an adult-entertainment club in the city’s Sodo neighborhood, according to Seattle police.

Citing Hill’s lengthy mental-health history, Assistant City Attorney Melissa A. Chin wrote in sentencing paperwork that Seattle officials were “concerned about his sexual deviancy.” In the same paperwork, Chin called Hill “a menace to society” in asking the judge for an exceptional sentence of two years.

Municipal Court Judge Judith Hightower sentenced Hill to 364 days in jail with 244 days suspended on the condition that he not break the law for two years.

“It’s really important you get a message.” Hightower said. “And the message is that when somebody says ‘go away, I’m not interested,’ you go away and not bother them.”

Hill said he plans to appeal his conviction.

According to Seattle police, Joshua Lehman, the actress’ husband, said Hill had been calling, e-mailing and sending him text messages in hopes of meeting Erickson.

Hill was kicked out of Dream Girls because of his persistence, but somehow tracked down the couple at their Seattle hotel, a police report said. The couple did not answer their door when Hill showed up, police said. Hill reportedly returned to the hotel the following day but did not contact the couple.

Police said that Hill returned to the club and asked if he could meet with the woman and get her autograph, police said. Lehman told police that he feared Hill would hurt Erickson.

Earlier this month, Pierce County Auditor Julie Anderson was granted a lifetime restraining order against Hill, protecting her from his harassment, according to court records. Anderson said he showed up at her house in October 2009 and engaged in a series of other unwanted actions laced with sexual references, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

Hill, who goes by the nickname “The Traveller,” frequently attends public meetings dressed in costumes, carrying signs promoting masturbation and exposed himself at one meeting, the News Tribune reported. He has run unsuccessfully for several political offices.

In September 2009, Hill traveled to Washington, D.C. and was thrown out of the Capitol after disrupting a congressional subcommittee hearing. Hill also showed up at the office of U.S. Rep. Norm Dicks, D-Bremerton, and harassed his staff, said Chief of Staff George Behan.

Hill has long been a name familiar to Dicks and his staff because of his antics in Pierce County; Hill has shown up events where the lawmaker was scheduled to speak, Behan said.
