Video-X-Pix Parts Ways with Pure Play, But Picks Up Industry Veteran Rob Ragan to Head Sales

NEW YORK CITY – Video-X-Pix, the high end Classic production studio responsible for such titles as the original “INSIDES” series, along with several other famous films announced they have formally ended their North American distribution contract with Pure Play Media, and have taken all distribution responsibilities back in house.

The move comes less than a year after granting Pure Play Media all distribution rights, as Steven Morowitz, President of Video-X-Pix said.

“We’re still very close with Richard and the entire crew at Pure Play, but we just wanted to bring everything back in house where we would have full control over our product line, from production to sales and fullfillment.”

All of their contact information is the same and customers are being encouraged to contact Video-X-Pix directly, as VXP offers a free 48 page color catalog of their entire library. Currently there are some very exciting things going on with “special packs”, as well their new Platinum Elite Series and Box Sets. Separate press packs will be sent out for each new release.

Jamie Horne, V.P. of Video-X-Pix added, “Our passion is with everything we put into our films, and we just felt something was missing in how we represented the line, and to be frank, we just wanted to be closer with the day to day operations.”

Video-X-Pix has also added a sales representative to the company. Rob Ragan, who has over 20 years in sales and management in the adult industry, has agreed to represent the studio from his offices in Maine effective immediately. Ragan, who is no stranger to the Classic video world, spent several years in upper management with Western Visuals Inc, and brings a wealth of knowledge to the company in both sales, and marketing.

Ragan said of his new partnership, “I have met and spoken with both Steve and Jamie at several of the shows and have always liked them both. Their production line speaks for itself, as they are truly the ‘KINGS OF QUALITY’ as it relates to the CLASSICS. Steve’s dad, VXP founder Arthur Morowitz, is a legend and I am honored to be associated with this legacy. I can only say that I am both proud and privileged that they would ask me to become a part of their company.”

Morowitz added, “We will continue to ship and bill all customers from our NJ warehouse, and Rob will become our sales manager, but he will do it from an outside office. This addition to our team is going to get us much more exposure and has already opened up doors to new customers. I like that Rob is doing this from his own office, it give us all the independence we need and it forces us to speak daily and review accounts. I am also amazed at how quickly Rob has grasped the essence of our DVD line, he really knows his stuff.”

This is a huge step for Video-X-Pix, as it has been years since they have had a dedicated salesperson and Steven is convinced that Rob is going to fill that void.

Video-X-Pix business hours are from 9 am until 5 PM Monday through Friday, and can be reached via email during off hours. To contact Rob Ragan about new specials and releases, you may email him at [email protected], or you may call him on his toll free number 877-525-5269.
