ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Wells Fargo Home Mortgage might be a fun place for customers, but it was no fun to work there, three mortgage brokers say. They sued Wells Fargo and their branch manager, Kathryn Griffin, for discrimination, harassment, and emotional distress in Atlantic County Court. The brokers, all women, say Griffin encouraged them to have sex with customers to get business, and to have sex with co-workers, one of whom she allowed to crawl around the floor and look up their dresses.
They say Griffin subjected them to offensive language, for instance, regarding “the use of fruits during sex.” They claim Griffin “would encourage female employees to have phone sex with customers to get business,” deluged them with needlessly explicit and offensive sexual speech, and denied women the training and opportunities she provided to men. They seek punitive damages. They are represented by O’Brien, Belland & Bushinsky.
