(link points to an age-check portal; after that you can’t say you weren’t warned), winner of the Adult Film Studio of the Year category, but if you’re into adult films and aren’t familiar with this company – or if your porn experience is mostly limited to quickie Internet clips and you haven’t seen any of the modern day feature-length films – I highly recommend checking them out.
Wicked beat out Girls Gone Wild/Mantra Entertainment, Bang Bros., Zero Tolerance, Elegant Angel, Girlfriends Films, Digital Playground, and Celluloid Addiction for the honor. Of those, I’d have picked either Wicked or DP: Both companies use contract stars and great directors, producing high quality and high budget feature length films that – gasp – asctually appeal to both men and women.
Wicked in particular had a hell of a year in 2009, winning industry awards for its feature-length epic Fallen, starring Jessica Drake (winner of the 2009 AVN Award for Best Actress), and also for Cheerleaders, the AVN Award winner for Top Selling/Renting title.
