from www.tmz.com – Former WWE superstar Gertrude “Luna” Vachon died this morning in Florida. She was 48.

Luna wrestled for the WWE from 1993 to 2000 … and had gained notoriety as Bam Bam Bigelow’s “main squeeze.”

So far, no cause of death has been determined.

from www.pwtorch.com – WWE issued a statement this afternoon acknowledging the death of former 1990s WWF valet/manager Luna Vachon (Gertrude Vachon) today.

WWE’s website is currently leading with a feature on Vachon linking to the company’s statement, which reads:

“World Wrestling Entertainment has been made aware of the passing of Gertrude (Luna) Vachon. WWE extends its deepest condolences to the Vachon family.

Ms. Vachon was under contract with WWE at various times from 1993 through 2000, and performed under the name ‘Luna’ Vachon. She last performed for WWE in early 2000.”
