XBiz Retracts SwingFest 2009 Misappropriation of Funds Story

Last week XBiz ran a story about SwingFest 2009 being canceled and quoted a company press release stating: “‘sources close to the event’ attribute the lack of funding for the 2009 convention to allegations that “self-proclaimed ‘owner of SwingFest'” Jason C. Jean misappropriated more than $200,000 of company revenue, among other things.” XBiz now retracts the story on www.xbiz.com:

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — An article on March 3 reported recent developments relative to SwingFest 2009.

The article reported inaccurately that SwingFest 2009 had been cancelled. In fact, operators said that the SwingFest Tour will occur this and subsequent years.

In addition, it was reported that there were allegations through a source that there were misappropriation of funds relative to the event. Operators said there had been no misappropriation of any funds by anyone in the company.

We regret the errors.
