Q: Can you tell us about your recent shoots with Reality Kings (See My Wife 4) and Immoral Productions (Titterific 6)?
(See My Wife 4) was shot last year. It was kind of a small scene and the guy was acting like he was my husband and stuff like that. We did that in Miami last year. (Titterific 6) was like a T.V. show/webcam, so it’s not a real movie – it’s not a big one. And I didn’t even know about it – I just checked on the Internet this morning. I didn’t know it was released.
Q: Can you give us a little bit of background on how you broke into the adult industry?
I arrived in the adult industry three years ago – it’s going to be four years in the summer. I had a (lingerie) boutique for people who were going to a singles club. I started to get really interested in those kinds of outfits and the erotic and sexy stuff. But I was not thinking about going into the porn industry. And just before that I was a diving instructor, so nothing to do with the industry. I have been diving for almost ten years now and I had my shop for five years. I sold my boutique just two years ago. When I started in the porn business, I couldn’t keep my boutique being always traveling. I had somebody working for me, but I sold it two years ago. It’s much easier now.
Q: You are from Belgium, is that right?
I am from Belgium, yes.
Q: Were you involved in the industry over there?
We don’t have any companies for the adult industry in Belgium, but there are some in France. So if you are a Belgium girl and you want to be in the porn industry, you go to Paris.
Q: Is that what you did, sort of commute from Belgium to France?
When I started in the business, I looked on the Internet to find a company because I didn’t know anything about it. I found a promotion and I sent E-mails. I got back an E-mail from a French promotion and they said, “You can come next week to do the first scene.” I thought I would have to pay to do my first scene because it was a real one. I was just surprised. For almost six months, I was shooting every month in Paris, so I spent a lot of time touring there. I went to Budapest, I went to London … you have to (travel) when you are in Belgium, because there is nothing. When you are in California, you just go shooting in the morning and you come back in the evening. In Belgium, you are ready to go for two or three days just for one or two scenes.
After this, I decided to try the U.S.A. because I thought, “I cannot stay in Europe. I can’t just go around to Budapest and Paris. I want something else.” The last few years, I have spent most of my time here. I spent a little bit of time in Paris for exhibition and stage shows, but not too much for movies. When you work here, it’s not easy to work again in Europe. They don’t work the same way and they don’t pay the same way.
Q: Do you enjoy being involved in the adult business?
I love my job. The thing is, I started late. I should have started earlier, but I was in school and worked in diving, so I did a lot before arriving in the business. I should have started five years earlier, but I’m enjoying what I’m doing, so it’s fine.
Q: You have a degree in economics, is that correct?
Yes, I went to a private school. That’s where I learned (different) languages. But then I decided to travel for diving, so I quit school because I worked in Egypt and Turkey for five years – four years in Turkey and one year in Egypt.
Q: Wow, nice. Are there any studios or performers you would like to work with in the near future?
I had the chance to do my first scene with Lexington Steele last time I was here. I had wanted to do a scene with him since the first time I was here, because he is really a good performer and also to show my fans that I can do something really hard. So I had my boy/girl scene with Lexington and it’s a really good one.
I would also like to work for the bigger companies like Digital Playground or Wicked, because I would like to try feature movies.
Q: With some acting involved?
Yes. I try to practice my English a lot and I can learn the script to go into that type of movie. This is something I would like to do in the next year. I’m crossing my fingers. (Laughs)
Q: You mentioned earlier that you have been a scuba diver for about ten years. What are some of your other hobbies and interests outside of work?
I’m doing a lot of working out – running and stuff like that – to stay in shape. I may do a marathon next month. I know there is a famous one in New York, so maybe I will try to do that.
I would like to learn surfing because I’m in California.
(Laughs) So when I have a day off I can go to the beach and have fun.
I did a lot of sports when I was younger. I think also when you are in the porn industry you have to do some workouts to stay in shape. For me, it’s just kind of natural because I did it already when I was a diver. Even if I am 35 years old I don’t want to shoot MILF stuff because I don’t look like a MILF.
Q: I didn’t know you were even 35. You don’t look it at all.
Don’t tell anybody. (Laughs)
(Laughs)
When I arrived in the business – because in Europe you always lie about your age; you never use the real one – so when I arrived in the business I was like, “Oh, I’m 26, 27.” But here they take the real one. They don’t want anybody lying about their age, so I’m always to say, “35.” (They say) “Oh, you look younger.” So it’s kind of funny.
I have a small tattoo of a fish that I got when I was a diver. So now when I do a scene people can see it. They always ask me, “Why do you have a fish?” It’s because I was a diver.
Q: Are there any upcoming projects you would like to mention?
I’ve started working with a French TV show. They haven’t started shooting yet, but we are working on it. They will start to shoot in Europe. They were interesting to work with. On the side, I would also like to do some commercial stuff and TV shows. It’s also a way to be with the fans without just doing movies.
I’m also going to start feature dancing. I would like to tour the cities in the U.S., dance in the clubs and be onstage for the fans. This is almost new for me because I did some in Europe, but not much. This is all what I want for the next month.
I am doing some webcam on my site, www.eva-karera.com. Just click on “See Me Live” and visitors will be on the webcam directly. If I am not there, they can see all the French porn stuff, because with this website most of the people speak French, but the girls speak English so American people can come on too. I also have my Facebook – I had more than 5,000 people so I had to open a separate account. (Laughs) I just started a Twitter, so now I am trying to post some news every day for what I’m shooting. I also try to send some pictures for the fans when I’m working.
Q: I wanted to get your booking information as well. Those who wish to hire you can contact Adult Talent Managers?
Sure, they can call Shy (Love) at ATMLA. She’s working with a lot of European girls, so that’s why I started to work with her. It’s good to work with her, because she was in the industry before.
Q: Yes, I’ve heard great things about Shy and the agency.
Yes. It’s cool to be with a girl. If a director asks for too much, she can say, “This is too much. This is not working for this girl.” She understands that some girls cannot do DP and stuff like that. I like DP, so I’m okay with that. It’s my favorite scene and my fans like it. When I was doing my list for my movies, I realized that most of them are anal or DP.
Q: Which I’m sure provides you with a lot of opportunities seeing as you are willing to do so much on camera.
Yes, should be. I started to work on them because when you come from another country it’s not easy to be famous like the American performers. You cannot just be famous in six months. You have to work doing scenes and working with the fans who follow you.
