Year in Review Continues: Rob Black, Lizzie Borden Get a Year and a Day; Kayden Kross Gets a Day

> Rob Black and Lizzie Borden, former owners of Extreme Associates were sentenced to spend a year and a day in prison for distributing violent sex videos depicting simulated rape and murder. They also received two years of supervised release at sentencing. They pleaded guilty early last year to conspiracy to distribute DVDs purchased by an undercover U.S. postal inspector in Pittsburgh.

Borden whose credits as a director include Pain and Suffering, I Love to Hurt You, Cannibalism, and Sexual Intrusive Dysfunctional Society 2, is doing her year-long sentence at FCI Waseca, a federal prison in Minnesota. Meanwhile, Black is doing time at FCI La Tuna in Texas.

Black was supposed to serve his sentence at FCI La Tuna’s minimum-security satellite facility, but he mistakenly reported to its primary facility 30 miles away. Instead of transferring him to the satellite facility, however, prison officials kept him there and ended up putting him in solitary confinement [for nearly a month] because that was the only space they had available, according to one of his attorneys.

> Meanwhile the real estate fraud case involving Kayden Kross eventually came to a close with Kross getting a day in prison and three years probation. Kross was first charged in Superior Court of California with Grand Theft (PC 487 (A) – Felony) and Real Estate Fraud (CCC1695.3 – Felony). The Grand Theft felony charge was dismissed while instead she plead no contest to a misdemeanor on the Real Estate Fraud charge.

> Reading the headlines about Emily Sander’s life would lead the casual observer to think that the most exciting thing that ever happened during her brief 18 years on earth took place during the three months when she was a softcore model know as “Zoey Zane.”

The horrific truth, of course, was that the most exciting thing that ever happened to her was being butchered in a cheap hotel room. Little was known of the Community College student who lead “a secret life as an internet porn star,” less known about the man who drove her nearly bloodless body 50 miles before dumping it along the side of the highway.

Israel Mireles was a 24-year-old restaurant worker with a pregnant 16-year-old girlfriend on November 23rd, 2007, when he apparently decided to bring the pierced and tattooed Sander back to his hotel room and brutally murder her. Although Sander’s body would not be found for a few days, evidence of the crime committed on her was everywhere. Broken windows, missing bed sheets, severed telephone cords and blood were left behind when Mireles escaped the building with the teen’s lifeless body, which was found in a ditch six days later.

Conjecture leads prosecutors to believe Sander and Mireles met up in a nearby bar and then left together. After the murder, resident alien Mireles escaped across the border to Mexico with his underage and exceptionally pregnant girlfriend, where he hid out among relatives while the U.S. government negotiated an extradition agreement with death penalty-shy Mexican officials.

Mireles was arrested in Mexico in December 2007 and charged with murder, rape and aggravated criminal sodomy. According to prosecutors, Mireles had told a friend that he intended to escape from jail by faking a dire illness and splitting once he was in a hospital.

Mireles had his first day in American court, when he appeared before Butler County District Judge David Ricke after arriving back in the U.S. from Mexico the day before. Although Mireles has indicated a preference for hiring his own attorney, the Death Penalty Defense Unit is currently said to be handling his case.

If found guilty, Mireles faces the possibility of life in prison without parole.

> All of Guadalajara must have mourned when it read the story about two professional Mexican midget wrestlers being killed by fake prostitutes. Mexican authorities said that the two wrestlers found dead in a low-rent hotel in Mexico City may have been drugged to death by female robbers.

Autopsies were performed on the two midget wrestlers, one of whom went by the name “La Parkita” — [pictured] or “Little Death” — and wore a skeleton costume in the ring. The other was known as “Espectrito Jr.” Authorities say two women were seen leaving the men’s hotel room before the bodies were discovered.

Prosecutor Miguel Angel Mancera said that gangs of female robbers are experienced at using drugs to knock men out and rob them, but they may have used too strong a dose. That may have been because of the wrestlers’ small stature, although larger men have also died in similar crimes, authorities added.

> The owner of Annabelle’s Adult Super Center in South Dakota was sued for sexual harassment with two Sioux Falls women, formerly employed by adult entertainment store owner David Eliason, filing separate lawsuits claiming they were sexually harassed and sexually assaulted by him.

The women claim that Eliason interviewed them both for jobs in 2007, hired them, then made several sexual advances on them and eventually sexually assaulted them during their employment, according to court documents. Eliason is co-owner of Annabelle’s Adult Super Center in Sioux Falls and Olivia’s Adult Super Center in Tea. Eliason said that he was aware of the lawsuits but referred questions about the cases to his lawyer.

“The claims are 100 percent false,” Eliason said. “Obviously, we’ll defend ourselves to the fullest extent of the law.”

Neither woman reported the alleged harassment or assaults because they feared Eliason would follow through with threats to have them harmed, court records state. The women eventually quit and since have been granted protection orders against Eliason.

> At the same scene of the crime where Jack Venice was convicted of rape and is now serving time, lightning struck again at the University of Washington in Everett when a 31 year-old “student” was jailed for investigation of allegations that he took photos up women’s skirts and possessed child pornography.

The man allegedly used a spy camera to photograph women at the Seattle campus and at least one Lynnwood restaurant, according to a police affidavit.

The man first came to the attention of Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives when an ex-girlfriend went to police after she discovered what she believed was child pornography on the man’s computer.

She broke up with the man after she found the images, the court document said.

Detectives served a search warrant to examine the man’s computer. A computer forensic analyst located several photos and videos of minors having sex, the court document said. Some of the videos appeared to show girls as young as 7 having sex with adults. The detective also found a flash drive that doubles as a “spy camera,” the document said. There were several videos taken that allegedly document the man filming up women’s skirts taken at the UW and at a local restaurant. The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of possession of child pornography and voyeurism.

> Seattle strip-club owner Frank Colacurcior and five others were indicted on racketeering charges. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said the 92-year-old strip club mogul and his son, Frank Colacurcio, Jr. and their associates were charged with a scheme to promote prostitution at the strip clubs they operate in the greater Seattle area.

The indictment further detailed how credit card machines and ATMs were used to facilitate prostitution and how the proceeds of prostitution were laundered through various bank accounts.

The mail fraud counts alleged that the Colacurcio organization mailed false reports to the City of Seattle regarding the number of people who entered the clubs and paid a cover charge. The indictment alleged those numbers were purposefully under-reported to evade the admissions tax and to enable the defendants to retain for themselves hundreds of thousands of dollars of unreported income per year.
