Boston- Three former ice hockey players for the posh Milton Academy, who allegedly requested and received oral sex from a 15-year-old sophomore girl in a boys’ locker room (early reports claimed it was a “birthday present), have been charged with statutory rape.

Although two minors were also involved, because the trio charged yesterday –Alex Casiano, Jay Driscoll, and Pasko Skarica–are 17 or older, and the “victim” was under 16 at the time of the incident back in January, if convicted they could be sentenced to life in prison. At the least they would have to register as sex offenders. Interestingly, although the same girl and some of the same players were involved in at least two other sex sessions, the district attorney decided to prosecute this one because of the large number of boys–5–involved and the fact that it took place in a common area, rather than a dorm room. During their arraignment on the charges, Judge Mark Coven reminded the boys of seriousness of the offense, stating, “This case is not about a sexual act between two people. This case involves sexual acts between five young men and one girl in a public place.”

Associated Press — Three teenagers charged with statutory rape in an incident at Milton Academy received two years of pre-trial probation after appearing in court Wednesday.

Alex Casiano, 17, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., Jay Driscoll, 17, of Milton, Mass., and Paska Skarica, 18, of Bethpage, N.Y., each faced one count of statutory rape for allegedly engaging in sex acts [a blowjob] with a 15-year-old female student between dining and study halls. Additional incidents reported by the school that allegedly occurred in a locker room and dormitory will not be prosecuted.

After admitting their role in sexually assaulting the 15-year-old, each was instructed to address the family of the 15-year-old victim.

“I can’t tell you how sorry I am. I regret what I did on that date, and would do anything to change what happened,” Casiano said.

“Not a day has passed since that I wish I showed more respect for you, myself and every one else involved. Since then I’ve reflected on what happened every day. I understand by taking part I put myself in a very dangerous situation with consequences none of us have dreamed of,” Driscoll said.

“Every day I am sorry, so sorry, for what happened. Every day I think about how hurt you must be and how upset your family must be. More than anything in the world I wish I could turn back the clock and make what happened not happen. All I can do at this time is sincerely apologize to you for my actions and wish you happiness,” Skarica said.

Judge Mark Coven reminded the defendants of the seriousness of the offense.

“This case is not about a sexual act between two people. This case involves sexual acts between five young men and one girl in a public place,” he said.

He ordered the defendants to face the victim’s family and apologize. If the teens meet the conditions of their probation, after two years the charges will be dropped.

Two other former students who allegedly engaged in the acts are ages 15 and 16. They were arraigned in juvenile courts. Their names were not released. The girl is also under 16 and is considered a child under Massachusetts state law and therefore a victim in the case.

The school released a statement saying, “The district attorney’s decisions are not ours to make and Milton Academy has not been involved in his deliberations.”

An anonymous source told the Boston Globe that one of the boys said the students were merely playing a “sex game.” The boys were expelled from the school. The girl is back attending classes.
