Nevada- Catherine Zeta Jones is suing a Nevada topless club she said used her image for advertising and promotion without her permission.
The Welsh-born actress says The Spice House, which bills itself as “Reno’s friendliest topless cabaret”, used her picture on its website.
The lawsuit filed in a US District Court in Los Angeles said her picture appeared on “numerous pages” of its website, sometimes alongside partially nude women.
That created the false impression the actress “endorsed or approved of the sexually explicit content” and could “dilute the value of her celebrity endorsement”, the lawsuit says.
The star of Chicago and Intolerable Cruelty has never authorised the club or its owner, Wesglow Resources, to display her image, papers said.
Ms Jones wants unspecified damages and an order barring further use of her likeness.
She and her husband Michael Douglas were at the centre of a major privacy lawsuit in London when a celebrity magazine used unauthorised pictures of their wedding.
