Louisiana- Broussard Police have concluded a month’s long investigation that’s led to several arrests of exotic dancers at a local strip club.
Broussard Police have been working with several other law enforcement agencies on the investigation for nearly ten months now and Monday night they were finally able to make some arrests in the case.
A total of 15 warrants were issued for exotic dancers on charges of either obscenity or drug distribution.
During Monday night’s raid at Michael’s Gentlemen’s Club, police were able to arrest two of women on obscenity and one other for distribution of Lortabs.
Another woman was arrested on site for obscenity and one more was picked up earlier. Eleven warrants are still outstanding on the girls.
The owner was also cited for violation of city ordinances, one in particular that regulates nudity and exotic dancing within bars.
Earlier we spoke with Broussard Police Chief Brannen Decou who says the club has actually had a history of suspicious behavior.
“We have had several shootings at the establishment throughout the years that they’ve been open. We’ve arrested several individuals for drug violations” said Decou.
The owner Michael Watkins did not make himself available for comment on the issue but the business could face suspension of its permits or licenses pending on the outcome of the legal citations that were issued.
