Think casting beautiful women for mainstream nude modeling’s a piece of cake, huh? In the following narrative, Robert Lombard of Creative Image Management, www.creativeimagemgmt.com talks about some of the drama he encountered this month when he had to come up with over 50 porn bodies for a NY Ad Agency to audition for a mainstream gig.

Lombard: Mainstream gets real nervous with the possibility of venturing down the Porn Road……some with attitude! Back in the middle of May I was contacted for the possibility of casting a project that would include PG 13 or real soft R rated type nudity. The NYC Agency producer had done her research and thought a meeting should take place to discuss this project and the chance to be contracted as their casting director on this project.

Weeks passed and no contact. So I chalked that up to another project gone away. Many emotions went through my mind but the one that stood out was. “Well” I said, “they all figured out what I do for a living and they did not want to get near me or travel down that road”.

Low and behold in the beginning of June I was contacted again and was requested to send a couple of jpgs samples of girls that I felt were right for this project. Understanding they were looking for all natural or implants that do not look like implants, limited tattoos, beautiful, early to late 20’s and could pass for Elite type models for print.

OK this was going to be a slam dunk as I had of course girls available for a casting session that would impress them or should I say blow them away.

I send pictures of Monqiue Alexander, Jessica Drake, Kaylani Lei, Syren, Cytherea, and Justine Joli.

Weeks later I get an email asking me if I had more girls or were these my choices that I felt were right. Felt like a slap in the face!

Now it was time to either lock this deal up or let it go away as I was most nervous but still confident that I could do this job for them.

I pitch! I close! Set the talent fees, which would be a good payday for any model cast for a few hours of work. But still very nervous as I was now communicating with the Creative Director. He was dead against casting any girls from the world of Porn. So now I am what you might say bluffing, doing a dog and pony show because I then found out what the product was and I felt strong that once the client found out that he could possibly have recognizable porn girls he would be more then cool. My alias in this scenario was the NYC female ad agency producer. Maybe she was just intrigued or maybe she felt I really had my shit together.

Casting session was set for June 24th and shooting was to be on June 26th and June 27th.

As I start prepping my calls on Monday June 21st I receive an email from the NYC agency producer telling me that things are ok but the Ad Agency and Creative Director are going to still set up girls from the higher-end modeling agencies in LA.

It was like getting hit smack in the face as I have done casting jobs with these type girls and whoa they are beautiful but I was not to be defeated or discouraged. I knew these girls were beautiful but I also knew they did not have sexual heat in person or when the camera was on and that was something key in all the discussions I was having…the girls needed to have sexual heat.

I receive my casting director normal 50% deposit check and I now start putting out calls.

I put out calls to all the girls that I currently have in my loop that have been cast in various Late Night productions and some newer ones who I have met as well as putting calls out to Direct Models, CS Models, World Talent, Roy Garcia, Joey Serio, Naughty Modeling.

I find my job getting tougher and tougher as the only individuals who responded with professionalism were Derek at Direct Models, Cam Smith at CS Models and Joey Serio at Adult Staffing.

I set up 53 appointments and was fairly confident that a few would get chosen for the 12 available slots.

It is Wednesday June 23rd and I am now starting to make my re-confirming calls things run smooth and as expected I now start getting cancellations due to work booked. I am now real depressed as some of my “ringers” like, jessica drake, Kaylani Lei, Justine Joli, Cytherea call to cancel. I am FUCKED! I am never going to work again. The girls from Direct Models I have not seen other then pictures on the company site and was fairly confident that if the ones who were scheduled showed up I still should be ok. And to end my day with a positive note I receive a call from Lisa The Lesbian and she says I am with Cassidy ex-vivid girl and she wants to come in and discuss soft-core productions further. WOW! Cassidy. Get her into this session. She confirms. Ok not all lost.

The day arrives Thursday June 24th our start time is 12 noon until 4:00 PM, Upon my arrival an hour prior as requested at the casting location I walk into this beautiful exterior courtyard. Sitting there is the director of the project, Creative Director, An assistant, LA Female producer and inside is a guy sitting at the computer who is responsible to scan in the Polaroid’s and digital stills back to NYC. I am saying to myself. I am in the wrong place. Well at least I can drink all the bottled water I desire and get my fill of fresh fruit and a catered lunch.

WE all meet and great and the Creative Director informs me that his list of higher-end models are coming starting at 2:00 PM and he wishes me luck with what he still feels is a waste of everyone’s time.

12:05 PM no one has arrived on my list. 12:10 PM still no one. 12:20 PM as I am standing at the end of the driveway pacing, smoking and wondering if I should just head back to my office the girls start arriving, one by one, Friendly faces that is what I need right now. Girls I know start showing up.

They sign in move to the exterior garden area where they are to have their picture taken and we say our good-byes. The process takes less then 15 minutes. NO one shows any emotion. God I hate these ad agency types. Too cool for they’re own good sometime.

It is now 2:00 PM the higher-end models start showing up and I now get really frustrated as these girls are beautiful but I remain confident as they have seen some hot looking ones from the list I set up. I need a laugh right now.

Ok… some walk away from the session as they will not do any type nudity regardless how arty it is. Ok good for my side but still I don’t know what the clients are feeling. I am stressed out beyond belief!

In walks Cassidy with Lisa The Lesbian, I think this one is going to blow them away like when Monique Alexander and Dee arrived even though they showed no emotion they still have to like this one. As Cassidy walks up the driveway two higher-end models recognize her and giggle and you could also see a bit of fear in their faces. Cassidy talks out loud and as her tongue moves outward she says. “Um I would like the both of them right now”. Normally I would of said stop. But I want our side to win some slots. SO if she scares a few away so be it.

At the end of the day I have 28 girls show up out of the 55 that were scheduled. 5 had made calls the day before and these were 4 very strong contenders to cancel [Wicked Contract stars, jessica drake, Kaylani Lei, Cytherea, Justine Joli] and 22 were simply no shows. NO calls! Just flaky no shows!

The higher-end models scheduled all showed up – ALL 60 of them. I left not feeling good but still felt what I did was worth every dime they paid me and surely they would reward some of the slots unless all parties vetoed any use of Porn Girls.

Well at the end of the day…….the REAL WORLD OF MAINSTREAM cast 5 girls. DEE, MONIQUE ALEXANDER, CASSIDY, JASSIE, DOMINO.

Gene sez: The thing that was astounding in all this was the fact that 28 of the porn girls who were supposed to audition swore up and down on a stack of bibles that they’d be there yet flaked the following day. Lombard, who’s quite meticulous in approaching these projects took care to prepare a word document of the casting information for all the porn modeling agencies whom he approached. Besides all those girls flaking, there were a couple of agencies that just decided to pass for whatever reason and never even bothered getting back to Lombard. “It was a shame,” some Lombard. “Because they had exactly what the ad agency was looking for. But with my four strong ‘ringers’ cancelling the day before, legitimately, I went to this session not very confident.” Putting it mildly, Lombard also had to deal with a couple of stuffed shirts from out of town.

But at the end of the day, Lombard feels that casting 5 porn girls was not a bad accomplishment. “I strongly feel if Kaylani Lei had been available, there would have been more,” he says. “They cast a girl who could have been her sister. As far as Jessica Drake, they cast a girl that looked exactly like her but had naturals. That would have been he role of the dice. But I was very confident that had Kaylani Lei showed, Cytherea and Justine Joli my percentage of booking would have been stronger.”

I asked Lombard about the 7 mainstream girls who got cast. His descriptions of them were beyond-beyond.

“You can’t even visually describe the scenario when these two [mainstream] girls were walking down the driveway in their sun dresses, sandals and perfectly put together with their books that they probably invest $2,000 to $3,000 in,” Lombard says. “In walks Lisa the Lesbian dressed in men’s pants, a T-shirt and a stocking cap! It’s 80 degrees outside. And Cassidy with blue jeans on with her hair pulled back with these eyes goes whoa! She looks at these two girls and I’m going, let her say what she wants to say, eliminate the competition. She turns and looks at those two girls and the tongue comes out of her mouth. She says, ‘I went them two- now!’ The looks on their faces was pure fear. The girls were giggling- either because they recognized Cassidy or because they thought look at these two- we got this job locked in. Who knows what was going through their head?”

To try and get 55 porn girls to show up anywhere, you can only imagine how many calls and confirmation calls Lombard had to place. Then to have 28 no-shows on top of that tells you what daily life in the porn industry is like. “They told me either personally or through their agents that they’d be there,” Lombard attests.

“It’s kind of embarrasing,” he says. “I know I’m the crusader for opening the door to these girls to get more legitimate stuff. At the same time they don’t want to follow through with what it takes which is not a lot of effort- getting in the car and driving. I know Dee and Monique [Alexander] were very awakened in a positive manner. They saw the girls that were coming in and saw the girls were cast. The point I made to them is this is the process. Go ahead, spend some money. Put a real professional book together an I will get you with one of these agencies. An ad agency is casting you for true, real mainstream project even though there’s nudity. But it’s tastefully done. You’ll go out on auditions, 10 to 12 a day in the real world. Because of the acceptance of porno girls- yes, some will shun away from you- but you will get jobs. Here’s a proven fact. These girls got $750 for 6 hours worth of work plus the booking fees on top.”

Lombard says the agency wanted Domino from L.A. Direct Models so badly they bought her out of her porn scene in the morning. “So she got a double-hit. They wanted her; she wasn’t available. I said here’s what we can do. Offer to buy her out and they said yes.”
