Texas- A 31-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday, accused of forcing a 15-year-old boy who dated her daughter to have sex with her by threatening to hurt herself.

Marisol Guerrero Garcia was charged with sexual assault. Her bond was set at $75,000.

The case represents a deviation from the usual sexual assault case in that women usually are the victims, not the accused, police said. “It’s unusual,” said spokeswoman Sandy Gutierrez, “but it does happen.”

The teenager, who was not identified in the arrest affidavit, told police the encounters between him and Garcia started in January with a kiss.

He said she later told him that she would kill herself if he didn’t sleep with her, according to the affidavit.

The boy “said (Garcia) got a knife and held it to her throat,” the affidavit, written by Detective Raul J. Cardenas, states. Garcia “cut herself, but it was minor.”

The boy said he didn’t have sex with the woman that day.

She continued making threats against her life, and once cut her wrists with a broken bottle when the boy didn’t go to her home when she asked him to, according to the affidavit.

“After that the (boy) was afraid that (Garcia) would hurt herself again,” the affidavit states. Garcia “told the (boy) again that if he did not sleep with her then she would hurt herself again or her children. Because of this, the (boy) said he had sexual intercourse with (Garcia).”

The boy said he had sex with Garcia about 10 times through the beginning of March.

Garcia told police in a written statement that she had sex with the boy three times in her home, according to the affidavit.
