Hollywood, CA — Days following Matt Zane snapping Criss Angels suspension record using only 4 hooks (Angel used 8) a lot of heated discussion has surfaced on fan sites and even Angels official message board located at www.crissangel.yuku.com/directory.
It seems Criss has a major problem with losing the record and fielding questions from his loyal fans. Apparently the threads discussing Zane setting the new world record have been removed and any new attempts of posting information concerning the suspension is deleted within minutes.
“It doesn’t surprise me.” Says Zane “Not only did I outlast him in terms of length, I did it with only 4 hooks instead of 8. A lot of his fans wrote me and said it was impossible and there was no way I could last 6 hours. Well I did and now his fans have to admit that Criss isn’t number one concerning one of his stunts. That generated a lot of speculation on his site to whether or not Criss would try to beat me. I don’t think he is up for it and I believe he just wants this whole thing to go away.”
Angel refusing to acknowledge previous suspensions is nothing new for the rocker magician. In 2000 Joey Strange, an underground suspension artist, was suspended from a helicopter for Ripley’s Believe It Or Not. Although the stunt was recorded and aired almost five years prior to Angel repeating the stunt on Mindfreak he has never mentioned or given credit to Strange.
T-shirts can now be purchased which feature Zane suspending that read “Angel Killer” www.zazzle.com/society1/products
Zane is currently recovering and will soon have articles regarding his suspension in Bizarre, XBiz and an in depth interview on a soon to be announced talk show.
