Artie Lange court appearance on DUI Charges rescheduled for September

from www.examiner.com – Howard Stern Show co-host Artie Lange was scheduled to appear in a New Jersey municipal court on Friday to answer charges for DUI and “careless driving” that he racked up after an arrest in July. Representatives announced today that Artie Lange’s court appearance has now been rescheduled for Wednesday, September 9th.

Lange was arrested for DUI in July after his rented Nissan Sentra rear-ended a Pontiac on a freeway near Tom’s River, New Jersey. Lange claims that he was in no way intoxicated during the event, and that the only substance authorities will find in his system is the antidepressant Lexapro.

The Howard Stern Show co-host has had a very tumultuous and public battle with heroin addiction for several years, but claims that he has not used heroin or Subutex (the prescription medication he was using for heroin withdrawals) since Christmas Eve 2008.

The Howard Stern Show is on vacation this week.
