from www.dailymail.co.uk – On April 1, Sunny Leone revealed to Mail Today that she was in no mood to quit her original calling – porn films – despite her big Bollywood break with Jism 2.
It has now become obvious that the Canada-based adult film star of Indian origin would rather use her new-found popularity in India to expand her porn market.
Now that Jism 2 has earned her adequate mileage among Indian film buffs, Sunny has gone ahead and uploaded high definition format version of all her existing videos.
‘All videos now showing in HD format,’ claims the siren on her website, www.sunnyleone.com.
Prices per view have naturally been jacked up, considering the escalated number of hits she has been getting ever since her outing on Bigg Boss 5 last year and her subsequent signing of Jism 2 made her a household name in India.
Her website charges viewers around $1 (Rs 51) per day and rates could be steeper depending on what kind of porn you want to watch.
‘Sunny has proved to be the smartest marketing brain among all budding stars in Bollywood right now.
‘She seems to be aware that online porn has a huge market in India and has therefore desisted from hiding her identity as a porn star,’ a trade insider in Bollywood said.
Speaking to this newspaper earlier this month, Sunny had for the first time said she has no intention of quitting the porn industry that has made her a celebrity in the West. ‘I haven’t shot for any adult film after Bigg Boss but that doesn’t mean I am quitting the adult industry.
‘I can never be sure enough to give it up. I cannot predict the future and one film in Bollywood does not guarantee I will get many other offers. Working in the adult film industry is not something I am ashamed of.
‘I cannot deny that is where my roots are. It’s my job and I have been a dedicated professional. My company SunLust Productions will continue to produce adult films and I will continue to remain associated with the industry,’ she told us then.
Sunny, born Karen Malhotra, will star opposite Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh in Jism 2, the latest offering of Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt.
It is a sequel to the 2003 hit Jism but bears no connection storywise with that film. Sunny has described the story of Jism 2 as ‘the journey of a woman whom the audience will love and hate at the same time’.
Shooting for the Pooja Bhattdirected film started earlier this month, and Jism 2 is scheduled to open later this year.
