It was announced today that former Vivid director B. Skow’s Teen Sex Dolls would be handled through Howard Levine’s Exile Distribution.
Skow’s four-and-a-half-hour, two-disc set ships June 18 and features hot up-and-comers Jessie Andrews, Sabrina Taylor, Mollie Bennett, Ella Milano, Britney Young and Adrianna Luna.
None of this should come as a surprise except maybe to Steve Hirsch. Hirsch was told about Skow’s secret meetings with Levine nine months ago but refused to believe what was going on. Skow, who was under contract, had been with Vivid since 1991 beginning as a photographer, later directing movies.
Last week I wrote: “Depending who you talk to, Skow was making a reported $300K a year [which sounds way exaggerated] yet even with that kind of money he was looking to make a move. Skow wanted a deal similar to Axel Braun’s in which he owned his own product but he wasn’t being given it.
“As a result Vivid management was alerted to the fact that Skow was in talks with another company and would be leaving once his Vivid contract was up.
“Steve Hirsch was apprised of the situation when Axel Braun and Hirsch’s sister Marcie brought the news to him. Hirsch greeted the information as lies and that whoever was spreading the story about Skow was “full of shit”.
Levine, who used to work for Hirsch, had been keeping the Skow deal under wraps, but in the AVN story released today he plays it ultra cool with these comments:
“I had the pleasure of working with B. Skow and selling his movies for years. B. Skow’s bestselling titles were an integral part of Vivid’s recent success. I am really excited about his new venture, Skow Digital, and working with him again.
“He is truly one of the best in the business, and now that he has his own company, his vision can be purely his own. I’m very confident Skow Digital will be a major force in the adult industry.”
