Louisiana- St. Landry deputies have arrested a Cankton bar owner for permitting obscene acts at his business. Also arrested: a barmaid accused of exposing herself and having sex with customers for better tips, along with one of the customers alleged to have been involved.
Merlin J. Hanks of Church Point, the owner of Hank’s Place, faces charges of obscenity and letting premises for obsenity. Barmaid Leslie Bergeron, Church Point, and the bar customer, Robert Credeur, Church Point, were booked on one obscenity count each.
The Sheriff’s Office said detectives had received complaints about barmaids exposing themselves and having sex with customers. Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said detectives assigned to the case saw Bergeron do just that.
They saw Credeur and Hanks engage in obscene acts with Bergeron, Guidroz said.
“All bar and lounge business owners and bar-maids in St. Landry Parish must understand, a state and parish business permit to operate a bar or lounge in St. Landry Parish does not permit obscene and illegal activity,” Guidroz said in a press release. “I will not have this kind of gross activity in St. Landry Parish!”
