$$$$$ Being Spent to Investigate $150 Blowjob Case

TROY — A pretrial hearing has started in the prostitution case against a woman police say took $150 from U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow’s husband to have sex with him.

Police Detective Patrick Dyjewski testified Tuesday police saw Thomas Athans enter a Troy hotel room, then leave 15 minutes later. Dyjewski was part of a sting operation that led to the February arrest of 21-year-old Alycia Martin of Westland.

The hearing resumes Monday before Troy District Judge William Bolle.

Police say Athans says he found Martin through the Internet. Authorities didn’t bring sex charges against Athans, who’s expected to testify.

Defense lawyer Frank Cusumano Jr. says police illegally seized evidence and seeks dismissal of the misdemeanor case.
