Conway, Arkansas – A judge has granted change of venue for a civil trial involving radio personalities who allegedly handed out pornography as a stunt at a gay-rights parade.
The trial was scheduled to begin Monday in Conway, but a court clerk said Judge Michael Maggio had signed an order moving the case to Pulaski County.
The civil suit was filed by the mother of a 16-year-old who received pornography. It was filed against Phillip Beard, Christine Brown and Stanley Knox. It alleges they set out to boost ratings by humiliating participants in the parade.
Brown and Beard, who was known on the radio as Phlip Satchel, were dismissed by Little Rock radio station KABZ-FM after the stunt. Both are charged with possessing and distributing pornographic materials, offenses that allegedly occurred at the June 27 march.
A criminal trial is scheduled for January in Faulkner County Circuit Court.
