Conversations with Jamie Brooks

Porn Valley- Yup. He did it again. Sports Swami, like with Layla Jade several weeks ago, introduced Jamie Brooks as “British’s own.”

Swami had Brooks on his two-hour interview marathon last weekend; and Brooks, take a guess, is with L.A. Direct Models, www.ladirectmodels.com. Swami introduced Brooks as the #2 gal in the L.A. Direct organization after Rio Mariah.

Brooks has an accent as thick as beefsteak, and it was difficult to make out a lot of things she was saying in a phone interview. On one note, Brooks said Harper who’s now directing is great and grateful for a lot of things “which a lot of directors aren’t.”

Brooks was asked the difference she saw between working in Great Britain and America. Brooks said UK companies don’t have as much money and the talent pool in the UK is a lot smaller. “But there really isn’t a lot of porn being shot,” she said. It was Brooks’ opinion, but she didn’t find a lot of the talent there to be very attractive. Brooks said she hooked up with L.A. Direct through an agent in London. “I started off modeling in the UK, and they had a deal with Derrick [Ben English] to send him girls from the UK. “That’s how I got there.” Brooks said she’s had no problems so far in over a year in the business. As if he’s going to find someone to buck party lines, Swami asks every girl from the agency what English is really like. The answers fall basically in the same mode as Brooks’.

“He’s very, very nice,” said Brooks. “He’s very good with his business. People think he’s hard but he really cares. But that’s what it’s like in business. He’s a person as well and has feelings. He’s a very nice person. If he wasn’t, I don’t think Hannah would be in it because she’s the nicest girl in porn.” Swami said he can’t find anyone to slam Harper. “It’s almost like Mother Theresa. No one has a bad word about Hannah Harper.” Brooks agreed. “You can’t. There’s nothing bad to say.”

Swami observed that Brooks got to hang with Eminem during the AEE. “I hear Mike Tyson was trying to chase you around.” Brooks said it’s been lots of fun. “I’ve just been grateful that I’ve had this chance to see this side of life,” she said, compared to a year and a half ago. Swami said he heard rumors that adult sets are drugs and alcohol. Brooks, on the other hand, said 99.9% of the time it was totally professional. They don’t want talent all messed up because they going to give them a bad scene, aren’t they? It puts directors off if girls are drunk or something. I’ve never seen anyone drink or do drugs on a set.”

Someone who was hanging in the studio with Swami asked Brooks if she thought Tyson was trying to become a porn star. “Everyone’s trying to go in that direction,” Brooks answered. “50 Cent wants to do a movie.” It was Brook’s opinion, however, that Tyson might be too hardcore for the hardcore biz. It was also Swami’s suspicion that Tyson, $200 million in the red, would grab whatever work he could get.

Swami also put the idea out there that Brooks was dating “British’s undefeated heavyweight prospect” Audley Harrison- essentially the same romance rumor he ran by Layla Jade. Brooks said the rumor wasn’t true but wishes she were. “That would be so much fun.”

Brooks’ feeling is that you have to keep focused on your career and your money in the business. She said she would look at directing as something she’d want to do in the future.
