Porn Valley- I’ve met Leah Love [pictured left] several times on Skeeter Kerkove shoots,www.bxmax.com, most recently one where Love was doing a threeway with buddy Hillary Scott and Mandingo. For being on the petite side, Love has worked with some sizable cock. “I was dancing already and I knew someone who knew Jim South at World Modeling, so I went in to take some pictures. That’s how I got started.” Love is from California but danced in Florida. “It was fun,” she remembers. “I learned how to dance and I met a lot of people; a lot of famous people. I loved the atmosphere of being in a club, dancing and having a lot of attention directed at me.”
I remember Love once making a comment on a shoot that she danced underage. I ask her about this. “I started when I was a minor,” she said. “I knew some girls who were dancing at this one club. One of them was my roommate. I went to the club with her and the manager of the club was her boyfriend. He never carded me or anything. He took her word for it.” Love says nearly a year went by before it was noticed that there was no I.D. on her and that she was underage. “This was about two months before my 18th birthday that they found out I was a minor,” says Love. “He asked me for my I.D. one night out of nowhere. He said you know you haven’t given it to us yet and the cops came in a few nights ago. They noticed you and noticed your picture wasn’t up. Eventually they found out I was only 17 then told me I couldn’t dance there any more.”
Love’s mention of celebrities prompts the obvious question. “I got to meet Puff Daddy and Christian Slater,” she says. “And I met Joe Pesci.” Love explains they’d come into the club. “Just sitting down like regular people- no big deal. We knew that they were going to be coming in. Typically, the owner of the club would make an announcement to let the girls know that there’d be someone special there that night and you would treat them better than you treat everyone else at the club, obviously because they’re important.”
Asked how a celebrity would be treated in ways differing from regular customers, Love says with a regular customer you might dance one or two songs for them and move on. “They’re nobody- another customer. That’s how you run a club,” says Love. “If you’re dancing for someone that famous like one of those guys, then you’d sit there with them and make them feel you want to be around them. They get their dunks. They don’t have to ask for another drink. It’s brought directly to them. Obviously the dancer would spend a lot more time with them because they have more money. As a regular customer to a dance we don’t know that you have money. All we know is that you are here. If you’re famous, we know you have money and now the trick is to get the money out of your wallet and into our pockets.”
I was wondering how celebrities are with relieving themselves of their cash. Love says it depends who it is, she guesses. “I did okay with them. It wasn’t bad, it was fun. I don’t want to get anyone in trouble but it was a lot of fun.” At the same time, says Love, some celebrities will be stuck up. “They know that they have money.” And Love doesn’t have any professional athlete stories to share, however. “I never saw any,” she says. “I didn’t stay at one particular club. I’d always move around.”
Love had a lot of fun dancing. “I loved the atmosphere of being in the club and being on stage and everyone’s looking at you,” she says. “I love to dance. And I love to be naked. But before I got into porn I was never really someone who was like that. I was always very shy and didn’t talk about it all the time. But I do like to get other peoples’ opinions on how I look. I love attention. I love to be told how pretty I am, what a nice little body I have or how nice my ass is. I love it. It’s like feeding a baby fruit. Feed me with things like that- flattery. I love it. I love being the center of attention. So it was even better in the clubs because I could be naked and dance and be the center of attention. All at once.” By the time she got to World Modeling, Love had quit dancing in Florida. “I came back out here. I ended up having a kid, a baby. He’s two now. But after I had my fun, I realized that doing regular work wasn’t going to support a family. And I had known that in porn there is so much money to be made. Being that I love attention and love being naked and having the spotlight on me- and I’m a nympho anyways- it worked out well. There’s lots of money and lots of fucking and lots of attention.”
Even with that, Love remembers being shy and nervous as she started to perform in front of a camera. “I did my first scene with Ed Powers,” she says. “I was nervous because the guy that had brought me into porn told me that I was pale and that I needed to get an even tan. So I went to the tanning salon upon his request and I think I stayed in to long. I was really burned and I had candy cane stripes up and down my body. So when I shot for Ed Powers he had to be really gentle with me and really careful with me. And it was so funny because his dog was there running around the bedroom while we were filming. So it was kind of awkward to be on camera having sex with someone I didn’t know. But after my fifth or sixth scene I was really cool with it. It was okay.” And, of course, Powers paid her very well, Love notes. “That made it even better because once I saw the check I was just, yeah. It would take me two months to make the kind of money I made with Ed Powers on one day.”Aware of the money she could make, Love couldn’t wait for her next scene and her next scene. After being in the business for several months, Love says she got to the point where she wanted to work for everyone. “I wanted to be on the boxcover of ever movie I did.” Although most of her experiences have been positive ones, Love says there are those that “make you wish that you didn’t know them.”
“They make you very angry and it’s discouraging,” she says. “They make you feel bad. There are some people in this industry- they’re different beings. I’ve had problems with payments a couple of times. They shoot you. They get their content and they don’t want to pay you.” One such instance, says Love, occurred with “Colorado” Joe Laughlin of AMA Concepts in Las Vegas.
“Nothing’s for free and I don’t want to work for free,” she states. “And you’re not going to release that movie and not make any money off of it so you should pay me.” In one of those times where she had to hunt down her money, Love said she went to Vegas for three days. “It was based upon one certain rate and certain things I had to do,” she explains. “Like different types of scenes. Everything was basically laid out before I got to Vegas as far as what kinds of scenes they were going to be doing and how much I was going to be paid. When I got there he [Laughlin] had different intentions. He wanted me to do things he didn’t tell me over the phone before I flew out there. He offered me more money and we agreed to it.”
But when Love was handed her check, she says it was the money originally agreed upon not including the extras. “I had to go off on him- yell at him and cuss at him. And be really mean telling him you owe me money. He got everything he wanted and I didn’t get paid fully. So we battled that out for about two months. He finally sent me a check for $400 less than what he owed me and still no content which I have not received yet. He had the nerve to call me a month or two ago and ask me to work for him. I told him, no, why would you call me to book me work when you’ve already proven to me that you won’t pay me what you owe me. And you still have content that you have not given me. He hung up the phone. He knew that he was wrong and I guess he thought I was going to forget about it.
“He’s pretty sorry as far as people in this industry,” Love continues. “I think he’s the only person in this industry that came right out and said- boldly- yeah, the only reason why I got into porno is because I’m too nasty to get it in my private life. But usually I don’t have problems. I know the majority of the people in this industry. I have a pretty good reputation. Some people don’t like me but that’s okay.” I tell Love I find this hard to believe because, from my contacts with her, she seems like a very nice woman.
Love tells me she had another episode- this one involving Patrick Collins at Elegant Angel- who Love claims just arbitrarily cancelled a scene of hers and didn’t so much as give her a kill fee.
“He doesn’t work very professionally at all,” Love states. “I went to his set. I was an hour late. I had a lot of problems on my way to work that day. My car was having problems. But I had spoken to him on the phone and I told him I was on my way. And he made it very clear that it wasn’t going to be a problem. I got there and I was supposed o be working with Genesis Skye in a girl-girl scene. We took all of our pretty girls, did a little solo video thing and he keeps taking breaks, taking breaks, taking breaks, smoking cigars. So he takes another break and everyone goes outside to shoot the shit for 20 minutes. Then we go back in work for five, go out and take another 20 minute shoot the shit break. Then we go back in. There’s a glass table that I was laying on that his bright brilliant brain told him let’s cover it in oil-based lubricant and lay Leah on this lubricated table.
“And I said Patrick can I be naked when I lay back on the table if it’s going to be covered in lube. And he was like what it’s your problem. Well, the lingerie I have on cost $85 and this is the first set I’m wearing it on. I’m not going to ruin a brand new outfit for lube.” Love says they were looking at different ways to shoot the scene when Collins, apparently out of nowhere, decides to kill the scene. “I don’t think you’re into the scene- have a nice day,” Love was told. Love said she told Collins he didn’t give her a chance to show whether she was into the scene or not. “Nobody started rolling camera,” Love says. “He was just a real asshole about it. And I’m like, fine, it was nice to meet you. I apologize for being late.” Love says the scene killed four hours of her time. She was promised a kill fee in the mail but never got one. “I haven’t received a kill fee and that was two months ago.”
According to Love, neither was Genesis Skye compensated. “Patrick Collins I feel, I’ll never work for him again. And that’s fine with me. Elegant Angel is only one company. There’s a million companies in this industry and I’ve worked for a lot of them.” Love said she’s told people the Collins story and the reaction was pretty much fuck Collins. “It’s his loss. I’m on a lot of boxcovers. I’m a really good performer. I have a really good reputation in this industry. And people I work for know that I’m a good performer.” Having seen several of Love’s scenes up close I would have to agree.
“That’s on him [Collins],” Love says. “The fans, the people who are making him his money, are the ones who decide who is good and who is bad. And those fans I’m sure who know who I am, knowing the situation between myself and Patrick Collins, that makes him look bad, not me. There’s so much money to be made in this business that I don’t need his petty checks. I can get it from anywhere else.”
While Love doesn’t like to end situations on what she calls bad terms, she says she’ll tell the truth about them.
I ask about Skeeter. “I love Skeeter,” says Love, giggling. I mention to Love the girl-girl scene she shot with Hillary Scott for Skeeter back in February. “It was a great girl-girl scene.” Scott is one of Love’s favorites to partner up with. They are also good friends off camera. “We’re really close. I think the chemistry we have off camera really helps us perform on camera. Me and Hillary are really close. I stay at her house sometimes. We go shopping together a lot. We talk on the phone a lot. She’s a really good friend to me and is really a sweet girl. She’s an amazing performer. She’s a little bit more out there than I am. But she’s terrific. I did another scene with her where I hurt my thumb. But it’s really fun to work with her. You never know what’s going to come out of her mouth. There are not many people in this industry that I will deal with as far as talent, but Hillary Scott’s one of my favorites.”
With the mention of the thumb incident, I ask Love about some of her crazier scenes. Love said that situation occurred on a Jules Jordan shoot. “That was my first anal scene,” Love says. “I was wearing these 9-inch stiletto heels that I could hardly work in. I was basically being Hillary’s bitch. There was a guy involved but I was her bitch, though. She had a dog leash on me and I was on my hands and knees. There was a moment in the scene when I had to stand up a second for her. When I got back down on the ground she actually had to push me. When I landed, I landed wrong on my hand. And I fucked up my thumb. I kind of bit my tongue and went on with it. So there was a time where we turned the camera away.”
Love says she was in excruciating pain. “I thought I broke it.” But Love says the scene turned out very good. “Hillary got to stick stuff in my ass and stuck her fingers in my ass making it stretch out more and more. “It was so much fun. It was for West Coast Productions shot at Cytherea’s house. “My God- he’s enormous; he’s built like a baseball bat.” Love said Napier didn’t show until they started filming. Mean time, she’s being told that another guy was Napier. “He was taking pictures. I’m going, like, if you’re Jack, show me your cock. he would not show me. He said don’t worry about it. I don’t want to scare you before we start the scene. So for like three hours I’m thinking that this guy’s Jack Napier. Finally, we start the scene and this guy I’ve never seen comes walking in and pulls his dick out. I’m like who is that. They’re saying it’s Jack. I’m going, oh my God, cut, when he pulled his dick out. It was so enormous. I hadn’t seen anything so big.”

They just know that I do it. My thing is for them they don’t need to know that I really enjoy it. When they ask me I just go I can’t work at McDonald’s and pay for my brand new car and pay for my home that me and my son live in; and buy my food and pay my bills and my rent. I can’t do that working minimum wage. It’s just impossible.”
