Conversations with Lola Lane

From the Gene Files 6/7/02- Lola Lane who appears in Thomas Zupko’s Mammary Man and Jugg Woman announce the launching of her website, lolalanexx.com’ Lola will be at Erotica L.A. Saturday at the AIM booth.

Gene: You mean there’s a Lola Lane three x’s somewhere?

Lane: Yeah.

Gene: And there’s a lolalane.com

Lane: Yeah.

Gene: Which you don’t own, right?

Lane: Which I don’t own.

Gene: Somebody got there before you. Doesn’t that piss you off.

Lane: That pisses me off.

Gene: That should because how many Lola Lanes are there.

Lane: Somebody in Turkey has it.

Gene: Maybe you got a big following there.

Lane: I don’t know. How did they even hear about me out there.

Gene: And you’re up and ready to run.

Lane: Members can join I think since yesterday. I’m very excited.

Gene: What took you so long to get around to this.

Lane: It’s pretty hard to work for yourself for free. I’m doing a little bit here and there.

Gene: Are you doing this yourself.

Lane: I have a webmaster. But I didn’t have as much content as I thought I’d need. I thought I had but it wasn’t enough especially when you’re putting together a website. So the webmaster is also doing my content, taking photos, videos.

Gene: Who’s your webmaster?

Lane: Jesse Adams

Gene: The former porn star.

Lane: That’s him. Normally when I say Jesse Adams people say, you mean Jesse Eastern?

Gene: How did you two hook up?

Lola: I was doing something for his website when I first got into the business about two years ago. We became good friends. I procrastinated about doing my website and finally said let’s get started.

Gene: You weren’t procrastinating. Your breasts were too big. They were slowing you down.

Lola: Literally my breasts are too big for a lot of people that are shooting. A lot of people don’t like big breasts. I run into that problem a lot.

Gene: Would you rather be a woman whose breasts are too small or too large.

Lola: I don’t know. Actually I used to one to have small breasts for a very long time because I started getting breasts at 8 years old. Even at 115 pounds my breasts were just a little bit smaller than they are now. Before I had my son I was tiny with big breasts. I looked kind of weird and had the back problems. School was the worst.

Gene: What was it like being an 8 year old girl with breasts.

Lola: Weird because nobody had breasts. None of my friends developed breasts until way into the sixth grade. I didn’t have big ones but enough to fill out the training bra. It was obvious. Then of course as a kid your mother’s not going to put you in big tops. So it was like the little boys all day long..

Gene: Did they try feeling you up in grade school.

Lola: Yeah. All through school. I used to try to run and fall and scrape up my legs.

Gene: Guys trying to feel you up.

Lola: Yeah. In junior high it started getting really bad because the guys really know what breasts are by then. I was getting followed home by strangers, and policemen were harassing me.

Gene: Construction workers?

Lola: Construction workers.

Gene: When was the first time you got felt up.

Lola: I was nine and in the fourth grade. It was at recess. The guys used to want to play that hide and catch you and feel you game. I didn’t want to play because I was very ashamed. I used to always stay to myself. They were pushing me to play this game and I finally said alright. But they all tried to catch me and touch my breasts. I didn’t want to go back to school. It was really hard for me.

Gene: Did girls dislike you because of that.

Lola: Some girls did but then I made myself very friendly. I made a lot of friends so that they wouldn’t turn against me.

Gene: Did you have a lot of boyfriends growing up?

Lola: Yeah, I did. Especially once I got to the high school stage another friend of mine- another black girl who had a dark complexion like myself and had big breasts- here she is not embarrassed, not ashamed. And she was flaunting around the whole school. I wondered why is she not hiding. We became friends and so it made me feel more comfortable with myself. I had tons of boyfriends- older ones lying to me, telling me they were younger.

Gene: Is that one of the reasons you finally decided to get into the business, getting that attention?

Lola: I always got a lot of attention. Then I started doing magazines like all those Players magazines. From that I got a lot of calls to do movies. But I would always say no. But then the real reason I started doing porn was the fact that it had everything to do with money. At the time I was a manager in a major department store. I took a vacation to Hawaii- when I came home I started noticing a lot of numbness throughout my body. My hands and feet, which wasn’t uncommon. I thought I had a pinched nerve in my back because of these big breasts. Within a week it started getting worse. I had to go to the hospital. I was there for a week and was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I couldn’t walk. Within a few days they put me on massive doses of steroids and within a week I started walking. But I had to do it with help of a walker, then a cane. Then normal. But I couldn’t work my job full time any more. And then someone called me with an offer to do a movie. The price sounded good.

Gene: Is your condition in check.

Lola: I have an MS that’s called relapsing/remitting which I could get totally back 100%. Maybe years later I could have a relapse. It could last a certain time then I’d get better. It’s a disease that affects your central nervous system and the coating of your nerves has been slowly eaten away. So the conduction does not flow properly throughout your body. Some people have a progressive form of that which you see with people in wheelchairs. I was very frightened because all I could think of was Richard Pryor, Lola Falana and Annette Funicello. These people to me except for Lola Falana were in bad shape. For some people the progression is very rapid. But then I found out 80% of the people with MS are not progressive and not in wheel chairs. I had MS for years before it became obvious. The first time I went to the hospital they were telling me it was stress and my nerves. Take muscle relaxers and go home. But I had numbness in my hands for years, then I notice I couldn’t feel the center of my body. The test you for everything in the world- HIV- all these different diseases. They did these brain scans and MRI’s- all of which were coming back negative. Finally they said you must have MS because they don’t know a whole lot about this disease. Basically that’s what happened.

Gene: You live with it.

Lola: Yes.

Gene: Do you have to take medication?

Lola: I took myself off the medication. You can’t really tell if it’s working in your body. But what it is supposed to do is keep the time span from me having a relapse longer. And if I do relapse this time it will be a shorter period of time. The medication makes me feel sick so I just take vitamins. I learned that stress brings on the illness for me. You can’t be in extreme heat or extreme cold. But I notice within myself it’s stress. If I’m at a job like working in retail which was stressful, I could feel my hands getting numb. It was too much for me. People in my life stressing me out, I have to get rid of that.
