Craigslist sex-sting suspects had Skittles, condoms for child sex, Polk sheriff says

Seems all that bullshit the Craigslist CEO was blowing out his ass last week about due diligence with its sex ads is just that…

from – POLK COUNTY — More than a dozen men were arrested in an undercover sex sting in Polk County during the weekend.

Among the 15 men arrested were a karate teacher and a little league coach.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office concluded the four-day sex sting early Monday.

Federal and state agencies assisted in the sting.

Agents with the agency’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force found the men in online chat rooms. The agency also posted ads on Craigslist. The agents posed online as parents offering sex with their children, ages 8 to 14.

Once the men showed up at the undisclosed home, they were arrested.

The men arrested were from the Bay area and central Florida.

One of the men arrested, Raymond Damon of Plant City spoke briefly to reporters, saying he did not come to the house for sex with a child but with the girl’s mother.

“I came here because she said we could sit down and have a drink if we were comfortable,” Damon said. “I thought everything was cool…I figured if she pushed the daughter thing I would leave.”

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, however, said the men were there for sex with minors.

“Each of these 15 men we caught this weekend would have traveled someplace throughout Florida to have sex with someone’s child,” Judd said. “Had this not been one of our events, at least 15 different children would have been victimized this weekend.”

Orlando, Florida- from – Fifteen men from metro Orlando and elsewhere in Florida were arrested in a four-day sex-sting in Polk County, accused of answering Craigslist ads and attempting to have sex with little girls, officials said today.

Some of the suspects brought Skittles and condoms to a house in anticipation of having sex with little girls and were shocked to find detectives in “raid vests,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told WFTV Channel 9.

Men from Lake Mary, Maitland, Orange City, St. Cloud, Kissimmee, Lakeland and elsewhere in Florida answered online advertisements placed by undercover detectives posing as parents who said on Craigslist that they were “seeking guidance” for their children.

The suspects are accused of trying to have sex with girls between the ages of 8 to 14. One man coached youth baseball and another works for JetBlue Airways at Orlando International Airport, WFTV Channel 9 is reporting.

They are accused of traveling to meet a minor for sex or related crimes, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement this morning.
