DA in King case puts down adult industry

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. – Authorities continue to look for an adult film actress from Canada who was last seen in suburban Philadelphia last month.

Natel King, 23, who also uses the name Taylor Sumers, was also reported missing to police at the Peel regional police department in Ontario. King came to Conshohocken for a photo shoot and was last seen in the area Feb. 29, which was also the last time she called any family or friends, Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman said.

“We certainly hope that the exotic film industry or anything connected to that is not going to be centered here in the region,” Ferman added. “That is not our primary concern in this investigation. Our investigation is centred on finding this woman.”

King’s car, a 1992 red Saturn, was found parked on a Conshohocken street Friday. King, 23, was last seen in Conshohocken on West Third Avenue. Her car was found nearby.

“She was a very smart girl, she always carried her cell phone and made sure that she could be in contact with people, so this is really scary,” said fellow exotic model Stacey Sinn.

King’s mother, Jackie King said that the woman had come to the Philadelphia area for a modeling shoot and to visit a new boyfriend. In the last phone call King made to her parents, she said she said that everything was fine.

“This is a suffering beyond what anybody can even imagine,” King said.

King is an erotic model and adult video actress from Canada. She was reported missing by her family in Mississauga, Ontario. King’s mother said her daughter never disappeared before and believes King is in a place where she doesn’t want to be. King said they learned about six months ago that Natel had gotten into the adult film industry as a way of making money for college. King said they warned her of the dangers of the profession.

“We had told her that this is an area that is very dangerous and she may not have the control she thinks she has,” King said.

Friends said King was last seen walking to a restaurant near Third Avenue and Fayette Street.

On March 5, detectives converged on a first-floor apartment on West Third Avenue, where King’s car was found. They carried out bags and boxes of evidence, including lights neighbors said a man used in the apartment that was being used as a studio.

Investigators from the Montgomery County district attorney’s office left for Canada Tuesday to meet with their counterparts there on the case.

Investigators said they currently have no evidence of foul play.
