Fargo, ND- An exotic dancer faces felony sex charges for what she told police was only a free show for a 14-year-old boy who was in Fargo this week for the USA Wrestling tournament.
An assistant Cass County state’s attorney charged 20-year-old Tonia M. Swiggum of Lake City, Minn., on Thursday with gross sexual imposition and promoting obscenity to minors. Police arrested her Tuesday night after a chaperone pulled the boy and an older wrestler out of Swiggum’s room at Fargo’s Rodeway Inn.
Court records released Thursday gave the following account from police reports:
The boy, from Colorado, said he had walked by Swiggum’s room after seeing her earlier in the hotel’s hot tub, and she invited him in. While lying naked next to each other, they exchanged stories about his wrestling and her stripping, sometimes touching under the sheets, he told police.
About 20 minutes later, a 17-year-old boy came into the room with a video camera he said he had brought to tape wrestling matches from the tournament. The boys told police Swiggum danced for the camera for about five minutes until the chaperones arrived. Police confiscated the tape.

In court Thursday, a judge set Swiggum’s bail at $5,000. She will be asked to enter a plea at an Aug. 26 hearing.
Swiggum was also charged with felony counts of simple assault on a peace officer and preventing arrest. Police said she kicked an officer at the motel.
More charges could come when detectives finish their investigation. Swiggum told an officer she was kicked out of another motel Monday night for having boys over, according to a police report.
Sgt. Pat Claus said he could not confirm or deny whether the police were looking into possible criminal contact between her and other boys.
Swiggum told police she works for Xxxtreme Outcall, an exotic dance service, but the company’s owner said Swiggum was not working for it when she was arrested.
In court Swiggum said she has been in Fargo for about a month. She has not returned a call to the Cass County Jail seeking comment on the charges against her.
