PUNTA GORDA, FL. – Detectives have arrested 31-year-old Shane Boyett of Punta Gorda on charges of Prostitution related to an internet-based prostitution investigation.
According to the Puna Gorda Pilce Department, Boyett was previously arrested by the Punta Gorda Police Department on November 18, 2008, after detectives received an anonymous tip of possible prostitution activity. At that time, detectives were able to view blatant advertisements of “Erotic Services” through the popular social networking website Craigslist.com. Subsequently, detectives arranged a meeting with Boyett at her residence at which time she agreed to exchange sexual activity for money.
The Punta Gorda Police Department continues to monitor internet sites for such activity.
Boyett, who was adjudicated guilty yesterday in court for the aforementioned prostitution charge, posted another ad in the “Erotic Services” section. This time she posted on the website Travslist.org. Detectives initiated another prostitution sting and subsequently arranged a meeting with Boyett at an undisclosed location where she was again arrested.
Boyett subsequently cooperated with detectives and arranged to have Joseph Lee Moore of 5594 Gagnon Terrace, North Port, deliver a quantity of crack cocaine and roxycodone pills. Joseph Moore and James Michelson of 5337 Kenvil Drive, North Port, arrived at the predetermined location to complete the delivery. Detectives detained the two males and recovered approximately $200.00 worth of crack cocaine, numerous pills, and over $1,000.00 cash. Moore and Michelson were both taken into custody.
Shane Boyett was charged with Prostitution and Violation of Probation. She is being held at the Charlotte County Jail without bond. Joseph Lee Moore was charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Crack Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Violation of Probation. He is being held at the Charlotte County Jail without bond. James Michelson was charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Crack Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is being held at the Charlotte County Jail on $11,000.00 total bond.
