LOS ANGELES – The director of a TV art auction program was arrested this week and charged with receiving and distributing child pornography over the Internet, federal officials said.
Anthony Logan, 62, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents early Wednesday at an apartment in the city’s Van Nuys area after an extensive child pornography sting, according to a statement from ICE. He was arraigned later in the day, said spokeswoman Lori Haley.
Logan, who was one of five original targets of the investigation, had numerous pornographic images and movie files on his computer, including ones that showed infants being sexually abused by adults, the agency said.
Logan is a partner with the Beverly Hills-based CineVision Entertainment, which produces “Fine Art Treasures,” an art auction program that is televised live on DirecTV and Dish Network.
The company’s Web page says Logan, who is also an Indian shaman, has a 25-year career in radio, television and the movies.
Calls to CineVision Entertainment placed after business hours Wednesday were not immediately returned. Logan was represented Wednesday by a court-appointed attorney, who could not be reached for comment.
The investigation that led to Logan’s arrest was part of ICE’s Operation Predator, an initiative aimed at stopping child trafficking, exploitation and sexual slavery that has netted 5,700 arrests since July 2003.
Nearly 1,500 of those arrests have been in California, ICE said.
