Falcon Comments on Vice Raid

San Francisco, CA – Falcon Entertainment and directors Steve Cruz & Leif Gobo [pictured] have plenty of reasons to celebrate these days.

“Blue Movie”, their co-directed/co-conceived debut project for Mustang Studios wrapped this past Saturday in San Francisco amid a flurry of perfectly timed controversy. Three days prior to wrapping, the 70’s-80’s porn inspired set of “Blue Movie” was raided in true 70’s style by L.A. Vice and ultimately a simple citation for ‘filming without a permit’ was issued.

Adam Q. Robinson – Director of Production for Falcon Entertainment commented, “Falcon secures filming permits each and every time we film outside of a studio, this incident was a welcome wake-up call not only for us but for the entire adult film industry. If you do not have a valid filming permit while working in a studio anyone with an axe to grind can inconvenience your filming schedule by calling in a simple complaint. The person or persons responsible for this not only drew attention to Falcon but to every other studio filming today.”

The filming of “Blue Movie” successfully resumed in San Francisco during Folsom Street Fair weekend three days after the raid.

Troy Prickett – Director of Promotion commented, “As it turned out every single person involved in the raided scene were already scheduled to be in San Francisco for Folsom Street Fair weekend, from performers to crew to the guys from the studio. We recreated the raided set in our studio right down to the last nut and bolt minus the guys from Vice.”

It had been reported that the inconvenient raid cost Mustang thousands of dollars and a rescheduled release date for “Blue Movie”. “Not even close to being correct” continued Prickett, “Reports that re-shooting costs would be in the thousands were wildly exaggerated and nothing more than hyperbole – and the release date of December 23rd has not been affected in any way.”

Knowing that they were involved in something that would be an industry-wide hot topic, scene partners Dillon Buck and Colton Steele knew their raided scene, which opens the film, would have to be over-the-top. Both Buck and Steele abstained from any sexual contact over the three days between the raid and the rescheduled scene to ensure they would tear up the set – and each other.

Co-director Steve Cruz commented, “We were blessed to have such incredible talent on this shoot – the dedication, willingness and trust made this production fly, especially after the raid. We all rallied together and did what we had to and I have to say the end result was a better set, better lighting and over-the-top performances by Dillon Buck and Colton Steele. This did not set us back, we weren’t defeated, it only made us come back stronger and better.”

The fallout due to the raid has been far from negative – on the contrary – it has provided Mustang with ‘you-can’t-buy-this’ publicity for “Blue Movie” and has quickly elevated the names of Steve Cruz & Leif Gobo as directors to watch in 2009.

Owner of Falcon Entertainment Steve Johnson commented further, “From all reports Cruz & Gobo handled this film from beginning to end like well seasoned pro’s. I’m extremely excited to confirm a new direction for Mustang and proud to announce that Cruz & Gobo have secured an on-going position with Mustang Studios. I look forward to their continued development and forging a long-term relationship with both of these up-and-coming directors.”
