Oswego, NY [posted April, 2006, insideoswego.com]- A 22-year-old former porn actress is getting ready to open a club in the city of Oswego where girls dance on the bar.
“I just want people to know it’s not going to be a strip club and it’s not going to be a porn store,” Crystal DiGregorio said Friday from her home in Malibu, Calif. “It’s going to be a hip-hop dance club.”
Clubcrystal already has prompted a meeting between DiGregorio, a former Oswego High School student, and city police. Capt. Matthew Coffey said he sat down with the club’s owners, DiGregorio and her boyfriend, Jonathan H. Hoffman.
“I reached out to Crystal and Jon to discuss the do’s and don’ts,” Coffey said. “They know what’s acceptable and what’s not. No underage drinking, no fights, no nudity.”
In a classified ad published this week, Clubcrystal sought “Coyote Ugly” dancers. “Coyote Ugly,” the PG-13 movie from 2000, features bartop-dancing women who tease male patrons.
“The movie is more country-style. Ours is going to be hip-hop and rap. It’s completely different than the movie,” DiGregorio said. “Everybody knows the term ‘Coyote Ugly,’ but the girls will be ‘Clubcrystal Girls.’ If I said that in an ad, people would assume it’s a strip club, but it’s not.”

Club Crystal brings the Coyote Ugly theme to Oswego. Action News 3 was at the auditions where the bartenders vied for positions as part of the entertainment, jumping on the bar, dancing, singing, and serving drinks. The club plays hip hop music. There will be no nudity.
Club Crystal is expected to open June 1, but the owner is not giving up life in Malibu. She says she will pursue a legitimate acting and modeling career there, reside there, and fly back and forth once a month to oversee the club.
