from www.gawker.com – The trial of former Texas high school teacher Brittni Colleps took a turn for the weird and uncomfortable, when jurors were shown a tape of Colleps allegedly having sex with four of her students at the same time. In other words, a tape of just your average after-school Texas study session.
Colleps was arrested in May of last year and is being charged with “having sexual relations with five students,” although all were apparently over 18 when the group sex occurred, so I’m not sure what the crime is. Maybe group sex with a teacher is against the law in Texas? Probably.
The whole ordeal started in April of 2011, when a student received a text from Colleps asking about a baseball game. The texts went back and forth, and soon Colleps was sending him naked pictures. So the student, who is going by “Aaron,” did what any normal teenager would do.
Aaron, now 20, testified that he met with Colleps at her house to watch a movie and that the two then engaged in sexual intercourse.
Somehow their one-on-one sex snowballed into group sex with four other students.
Aaron testified that during that last meeting, one of the students shot video of the sexual encounter using Aaron’s cellphone. Aaron testified that Colleps remarked, “Don’t put the light in my eyes” as the other student, known by the pseudonym “Jordan.” began filming.
Colleps is married with three children. You’d think her husband would be upset, but nope, he’s being pretty cool about the whole thing.
“I hope you will not pass judgment on her because you don’t have all the facts or details according to this situation,” he said. “I want you to know I love my wife. I have loved my wife since I laid eyes on her 11 years ago. I have always supported my wife and will continue to support her through this entire ordeal.”
There’s also something of a teacher sex scandal epidemic happening in Texas right now.
On Wednesday night, Irving police arrested former MacArthur High School biology teacher April St. John Alexander. An 18-year-old male student reportedly told police he had a three-month relationship with her two years ago.
And Christian Michael Flores of North Garland High School is facing charges for both an improper relationship and indecency with a child by contact. Both charges involve a female under the age of 17, police said.
Anyway, the lesson here is never name your daughter “Brittni” or any other name ending in “i” otherwise she’ll end up having her group sex tape shown to a courtroom full of strangers.
