from www.wthitv.com – VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – A new trial date for a Vigo County School teacher accused of sexual acts with a student.

Erin Baynard Stewart was arrested in April 2010 charged with two felonies of sexual misconduct with a minor.

Stewart was teaching Social Studies at Chauncey Rose Middle School in Terre Haute at the time.

Police said a 14-year-old boy reported having sexual relations with Stewart on four separate occasions, once even in a classroom.

As for her job, the state statute protects teachers who have been charged but not found guilty of a crime, therefore Stewart remains on leave.

Stewart’s trial is now reset for November 14th.
