from www.blueridgenow.com – The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office has charged a North Henderson High School teacher with a felony sex offense with a student.
Leslie Lamb Messer, 38, of 101 Kristey Lane, Hendersonville, was arrested on July 28, according to Capt. Jerry Rice with the Sheriff’s Office. The arrest warrant accuses her of having sexual intercourse with a North Henderson High male in June 2010.
Rice said the incident did not take place on school grounds, but he would not release any additional information because of the nature of the alleged offense.
Messer, who has been employed by the Henderson County Public School System since 1999, is a special education teacher, according to Assistant Superintendent Bill Parker. Parker said Tuesday that Messer is still a school system employee.
“This is an ongoing investigation, and we are certainly cooperating with law enforcement in any way we can,” Parker said.
Messer’s biography on the school’s website states she is married and has two children.
She was placed in the Henderson County Detention Facility under a $10,000 secured bond after her arrest, and she was released on July 28.
Her next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 19.
