from www.crimeblog.dallasnews.com – A Cedar Hill middle school teacher was arrested Wednesday after accusations that she had sexual relationships with two students.

Marlena Mints, 31, a health teacher and coach at Bessie Coleman Middle School, was charged with two counts of improper relationship with students and one count of aggravated sexual assault.

Another coach reported the allegations after a student who she was driving home told her and other children that he and Mints had sexual contact earlier in the year, according to an arrest affidavit. When the coach told the student that it was rape, the student, 13, said Mints was “just a cougar who likes younger men” and said he was “one of her favorites.”

The boy also said Mints allowed him and other students to touch her inappropriately in her classroom, according to the affidavit.

Another arrest warrant affidavit said that during an investigation, police identified a second potential victim, who told police that Mints had picked him up from his home during spring break and brought him back to her place to perform a sex act.

Cedar Hill ISD put Mints on administrative leave on April 30, according to Cedar Hill city spokesman Corky Brown. Police issued warrants for her arrest Tuesday and then took Mints into custody after she was stopped for a traffic violation.

She was booked into the DeSoto Jail and has been transferred to Dallas County custody.
