from www.telegraph.co.uk – A ballet teacher who flouted a police order to continue her inappropriate relationship with a talented and vulnerable 15-year-old boy dancer was handed a suspended jail term.
Sarah Pirie, 27, who has appeared as an extra in several television shows, including Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, compromised herself by driving the gifted youngster to meet relatives.
At Preston Crown Court, Pirie admitted abducting a child but her not guilty pleas to sex offences with the boy were accepted by the prosecution.
Judge Michael Byrne accepted there was no affair but told her: ”You were in position where you represented to some limited extent a position of success to which youngters could only aspire.
You used your professional status for some kind of attention which went beyond the proper boundaries of your relationship, so much that you were warned by police that your conduct was no appropriate.”
Sarah Johnston, prosecuting, said Pirie originally faced five counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of abduction. Police officers were contacted after Pirie’s employers became concerned about her contact with a pupil and despite numerous warnings she had continued to associate with him outside work.
