from www.pottsmerc.com – A female Upper Dublin High School teacher allegedly had improper contact with a female student, including sending her sexually explicit text messages and giving her a sex toy on school property, according to authorities.
Cheryl B. Bremble, 40, of Hatboro, was arraigned Friday before District Court Judge Patricia Zaffarano of Ambler on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of a minor, obscene and other sexual materials, unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a communication facility and harassment in connection with alleged incidents that occurred between October 2010 and May 2011 while Bremble was the girl’s teacher.
Bremble remains free on $25,000 unsecured bail while awaiting her preliminary hearing on the charges. Court documents did not reveal the exact age of the high school girl.
Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman alleged the high school girl had developed a special bond with Bremble and Bremble began to
spend a lot of time with the girl outside of the school setting. Bremble, a learning support teacher, allegedly took the girl shopping and purchased several expensive clothing items for the girl.
“Bremble also had sexually explicit conversations with the juvenile victim in person and via text messages,” Ferman alleged.
The teacher, according to the criminal complaint, also gave the girl a sex device on school property during school hours.
“Bremble encouraged the juvenile to use the device on numerous occasions during text message conversations,” Ferman alleged.
Michael J. Pladus, superintendent of the Upper Dublin School District, said Bremble has been suspended from her job with the district pending the results of the investigation.
“The district is not able to comment on any specific aspects related to the ongoing investigation, but I can tell you we are cooperating fully with the authorities,” Pladus said on Friday. “Any allegation of improper communication or solicitation involving any member of our faculty or staff with a student will absolutely not be tolerated under any circumstances.”
An investigation of Bremble began on May 31, when the parents of the high school girl reported to Upper Dublin police their concerns that Bremble had an inappropriate relationship with their daughter, according to the criminal complaint.
The teenage girl, according to the arrest affidavit, approached her parents “in tears” on May 27 and informed them about the inappropriate text messages Bremble allegedly sent to her.
“The concerned parent reported that the inappropriate text messages were of a sexual nature in which Bremble revealed to his daughter that she is bisexual and that she thinks his daughter is ‘hot,'” Upper Dublin Detective Michael B. Lebby wrote in the criminal complaint. “The concerned parent also reported that Bremble had given his daughter a vibrator and sent her multiple texts inquiring if she had used the vibrator.”
In text messages to the girl Bremble allegedly wrote, “Have u tried the present I gave u? Cause it is a good one,” according to the arrest affidavit.
Bremble also referred to the girl’s intimate body parts in text messages and Bremble discussed with the girl intimate aspects of Bremble’s relationship with Bremble’s boyfriend, according to the arrest affidavit.
The girl told detectives that Bremble also had “numerous, sexually explicit, face-to-face conversations” with her, according to the criminal complaint.
When detectives confronted Bremble about the allegations on June 6, she allegedly confessed to sending the girl inappropriate text messages and to giving the sexual device to the juvenile, according to court papers.
If she’s convicted of all the charges at trial, Bremble faces a possible maximum sentence of 18 to 36 years in prison. Assistant District Attorney Samantha Cauffman is handling the prosecution.

Investigators say Cheryl Bremble, a special education teacher, gave the girl the toy on school property. Officials also say Bremble had sexually explicit conversations with the student in person and via text messages.
Parents learned of the arrest from their children.
“I think they were shocked, really surprised. I think it’s the last thing they expected to hear and I think they’re disappointed, disappointed in the teacher” said Charlie Snyder.
In a statement, Upper Dublin School superintendent Michael Pladu said: “Although the District can’t comment on the specifics of the investigation, we are cooperating with authorities.
