Porn Valley- The Grand Vizier calls me about the Shy Love lawsuit. “Their partner put in a quarter of a million dollars- no wonder they got brand new BMW’s.”
“Buck Adams survived for years on those types of deals,” I tell the Grand Vizier.
“I think a lot of people are embarrassed to say anything, but it doesn’t sound like this guy is,” The Grand Vizier replies.
“Years ago I get a call from this guy who tells me he’s in mainstream and wants to get involved in the adult business,” I tell the Grand Vizier.
“He heard that I knew a lot about the business, can we sit down at lunch because he wants to invest; he wants to do shoots. I figure maybe this is an opportunity to land some consultant’s gig. So I spend a couple of hours of my time giving him the overview of the industry, telling him what to avoid. So what does this guy do? He totally ignores my advice and he gets fucked. Hundreds of thousands of dollars. I find all this out when I call him to ask what he’s been up to. He tells me he hired Teri Diver and begins with a tale of woe about these “projects” that were a disaster and how she basically took his money. The story he told me sounds similar to the Vicious Media scenario and I’m sure this happens all the time.”
“When this guy started investing is when they [Love and her husband] bought a house,” says The Grand Vizier.
“They put down the minimum to get in and bought the BMW’s,” he continues. “When they started running low on money they talked Jenna Presley, Brooke Haven and the other girls- come do the scenes for free- and you’ll own part of the money. That saves them a ton of money. They get the movies out and all of this comes to light when the fall out happens. Because that’s how it went down with Nick Manning and Shay Sights. A guy put in a bunch of money for the movies. Before shooting one scene, Nick went and got a Jaguar XKE. People were waiting to get paid and checks bounced. How does that happen when you’re paid one hundred grand in advance?
