The famous last words of this generation may be James Deen’s. Today in an interview on You Tube promoting his forthcoming appearance in Rolling Stone, Deen, from his ritzy digs in Porn Valley, said that he had no interest in going mainstream.
Deen has a role in the upcoming “The Canyons” written by Bret Easton Ellis, directed by Paul Schrader and co-starring Lindsay Lohan. That’s three reasons right there for going all Hollywood. Mark my words, if a call calls from Brad Pitt inquiring whether he was available for Ocean’s 14, all bets are off.
For now Deen says he’d like to remain in the adult industry until no one wants to see him any more.
“I hope my body can last as long as I want it to,” he laughs.
“There’s this whole misnomer that everybody in adult has this secret desire to start doing mainstream or to crossover,” Deen continues.
“There’s some people that do but the majority of people I know they would laugh in the face of mainstream. They chose to do adult and want to do adult. I am one of these people.”
Deen, next, reveals something that’s surprising.
“I’ve been offered mainstream things in the past but have turned them down,” he says.
“I’ve been offered auditions and all these things like that. I’m not interested. There’s certain things about it that intrigue me and excite me.”
According to Deen his primary reason for doing the project was Ellis and Schrader’s attachment to it. As well as Lohan’s involvement.
“It became this amazing thing that I was attached to which really baffles my mind on a daily basis that I’m even part of it. I feel very honored and I feel very privileged.
“At the same time this isn’t what I want to do with my life. This [porn] is what I want to do with my life. I’m doing what I want to do with my life. I have no desire to be mainstream.”
