Porn Valley- In a very interesting turn of events, Jessi Summers has come over to Joel Lawrence's agency Gold Star Modeling. Summers, who was originally with Naughty Talent, went over to LA Direct when Tim Myren was ousted from Naughty Talent. And to make it even more interesting, Myren now has come over to Lawrence's company as well.
But Lawrence emphasizes that Myren's only working in the capacity of recruiter and driving the models for go-sees.Lawrence also wanted to make it clear that he didn't want to get swept up in any leftover drama and wanted people to realize that Myren wasn't an agent with Gold Star or in anyway a partner with the company.
"I love Tim to death," says Lawrence. "He's a great guy in my opinion; he's got a heart of gold. But his reputation as an agent is not good."
"Tim was voted out at Naughty Talent," says Lawrence from his understanding of the situation. "It's hard to tell whether his infringement was egregious enough to vote him out or not. It seems a little quick to have voted him out." According to Lawrence, he had his own attorney look over the documents that Myren signed before taking him on.
"Tim just signed a really, really bad, agreement," Lawrence concludes, noting that there was a rumor floating around that Myren was deep in debt and that Sascha essentially cleared his debt.
"That's not really exactly what happened," says Lawrence. "Sascha put up, from what he told me, $25,000 but most of that went to opening up an office, buying computers, buying cell phones for everyone, doing the legal work and also paying for a trip to Vegas where they all did business together." From what Lawrence also understands, Myren had about $3500 in debts.
"And that was also covered in that $25,000," Lawrence adds. "And, according to Tim, he considers that he owes $3500 to Sascha. I don't think Tim denies that. But Tim gets nothing. At the end of the day, he gets absolutely nothing from his company and still owes them $3500 which seems to me about as bad a business deal as you can possibly make. I don't know what he was thinking."
Lawrence also points out that there's a non-competition clause.
"It basically tries to state that for a year, Tim's not able to be involved in any capacity in the industry," Lawrence continues to say. "My lawyer basically said that will not fly, that there is absolutely no way that that will hold up in California court. And I think Sascha also realizes at this point that that's not the case, that even though he's threatening to sue Tim, he's not going to. Basically they're going to let the whole thing die. Tim no longer has the Naughty Modeling [Talent] name or site, that Sascha's taken it over and at the end of the day what's done is done. Tim and everyone signed it and it was a bad agreement for Tim. But there's nothing that can be done about that without dragging it all into some extended litigation, which, considering the overall value of the company, is totally not worth it."
According to Lawrence, what Myren will do for Gold Star is restricted to two areas.
"The first and primary is recruiting," says Lawrence. "And so far he's done very well at that. He's brought in a variety of girls one of which is Jessi Summers who was sort of a pawn in this whole chess game where she bounced to LA Direct. I don't know exactly what happened, but she was no longer with LA Direct but is now with Gold Star. " Lawrence said he talked to Summers and got the impression that she had asked them to work her three or four days a week which would be a no-no in LA Direct's book.
"She didn't want to work every day and she repeatedly ask them to not book her so heavily," is the gist that Lawrence is getting from the whole deal. "I can't say anything more than what she and Tim told me," Lawrence adds. "I have not talked to anyone over at LA Direct so I couldn't give both sides of that story. But I can confer that she's very beautiful and that she'll be up on the site Saturday."
"There's a few other girls in the wings that also look like they're coming over to Gold Star," Lawrence continues. "So, for that point of view, he's been very good at recruiting."
Other than that, Myren takes the girls on go-sees three days a week around the industry to meet the producers.
"He's expressly forbidden from doing any agency work at all," Lawrence points out. "If one of the producers wants to book somebody, they're to call the office; and he's not doing driving that's associated with taking the girls to the sets or from the sets. He's done well at this, as well, and I think he will do both of these jobs very well and that he'll wind up being a great asset and a very loyal employee. I feel sorry for him that he lost his company because it certainly wasn't the way that he intended for things to work out."
While Myren might have the capacity for tripping over his own shoes, Lawrence concedes that he never had a problem with getting girls.
"It seems like a good way for me to utilize what was best of his skills," says Lawrence. "He's got something- he blows me away. He continues to impress me. He's got a bunch of new girls that are all really hot. I think the bottom line from watching him is that his gimmick is just hours. He puts in a phenomenal amount of hours into recruiting. That counts for a lot."
Lawrence says Gold Star has something now like 53 girls on its roster making it a strong #2 agency right behind LA Direct.
