(CHATSWORTH, CA) — HELL hath no fury like a “Juggie” scorned.
That’s the lesson being learned by Comedy Central’s newly-revamped “The Man Show,” which is battling rumors that its buxom back-up dancers, known as the Juggies, are unhappy with the raunchy series’ new hosts, Joe Rogan and Doug Stanhope.
A source close to one of the scantily-clad Juggies, who famously close each show by bouncing on trampolines in slow motion, are upset with former “Fear Factor” host Rogan’s behind-the-scenes power plays.
“Joe had one Juggie fired so he could hire some girl he liked,” says a source close to one of the busty beauties. “But it didn’t work out. She wasn’t any good, and they had to let her go.” To make matters worse, claims our source, “None of the girls thinks the new hosts are as funny as [original hosts] Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carrolla.”
News of jilted Juggies is just the latest in a beehive’s worth of bad buzz surrounding the new “Man Show,” epitomized by a scathing, zero-star review by The Post’s Adam Buckman last week.
But the show’s executive producer, Scott Stone, tried to put a positive spin on “Juggiegate” yesterday.
“We think with Joe and Doug as hosts, ‘The Man Show’ is as funny as it has ever been,” Stone told PAGE SIX in a statement. “We love all of our Juggies and the feedback we received from Las Vegas is that the promotion was a huge success.”
The Juggies were the featured attraction during the weekend’s Stuff magazine bash at the Palms Hotel and Casino Vegas. The pneumatic nymphettes flew in Friday night on Stuff’s 737 jet along with Damon Wayans, Tom Green, Michael Vartan of “Alias,” Danny Masterson of “That ’70s Show” and his brother Chris Masterson of “Malcom in the Middle,” David Alan Grier, Henry Simmons of “NYPD Blue,” former “Baywatch” babe Nicole Eggert and, yes folks, Paris and Nicky Hilton.
The weekend’s high points, orchestrated by Stuff co-publisher Aric Webb, included a concert by Live and poolside fashion shows by Baby Phat and Jaime Pressley’s lingerie line, J’aime. There was also a private celebrity after-party at the hotel’s Little Buddha restaurant presided over by Palms poobah George Maloof.
