PANAMA CITY – from www.cbsnews.com – Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis is now being held in contempt of court in a civil case brought against him by four young women who were filmed by Girls Gone Wild crews while they were underage.
Francis had been representing himself in a Panama City courthouse this week and his inexperience in courtroom procedure showed, according to local station WMBB.
Judge Richard Smoak ruled Francis was in contempt for violating an evidentiary rule during cross examination of a witness and ended Francis’ cross examination of that witness immediately.
The judge had to instruct Francis on how to cross examine a plaintiff.
“Everything you say needs to have a question mark after it,” the judge said, according to WMBB.
According to the station Francis replied saying, “I’m going to make it like Jeopardy, your honor.”
Francis was fined $2,500 for contempt of court, an amount which must be paid by 8:30 a.m. Friday morning, the station reported.
